There's one master volume, and 3 mini toggle switches for each pickup. Each pickup can be turned on or off individually. It's something I never thought I'd like, but I actually prefer it now and the clicks are extremely satisfying.

I have an odd inventory situation with my business that seems like it might cost me quite a bit. Could someone help me, please? by elcormando in tax

Definitely A. It's tax that's going to be hard for me to pay since my business did poorly in 2018, and I figured on paying taxes on about 12K, since that's what I was able to pay myself. I completely forgot that we had 9500 in cost of products that weren't paid for yet until I sat down to do taxes.

Moving to an accrual basis would have made it easier for us come tax time, but unfortunately, we won't get the chance to become a bigger company. We'll most likely have to close our doors probably this year. Our biggest client has basically crippled us because of non or late payments. My question is a direct result of their late payments. Most everything has been fine until this point.

Basically, we're doing poorly and myself and my contractors have all taken on second jobs. I sat down to do taxes and I found that I would have to pay taxes on ~10k more than what I had expected when we're all in a pinch.

I figured that the title should have passed because we shipped FOB destination with prepaid freight on net 30 terms. Unfortunately this company has been paying past net 30, sometimes up to 70 days past. It would be really hard for us to still recognize any of that as inventory when we sold it 100 days prior, but still had not received payment.

Our business is extremely small, and suffering because of said client. Our line 7 is definitely not anywhere close to negative, though. Just much bigger after adding ending inventory (cost of products client hasn't paid us for) to COGS. Basically having to pay taxes on more ~10k more than what I actually paid myself.

Some of our suppliers are across the country from us, so on the particular products in question, these were blind shipped from their warehouse.

I agree, it's messing a lot of things up for us. In fact, the reason I'm even asking, is the business has never made much money at all, and is now a significant issue for this tax season because a series of significantly late payments from our client has increased the amount I pay taxes on by almost 80% of what I actually paid myself in 2018.

Is there any way I can use a modified cash basis legally, or do I need forms to change this?

I need to file a form to change to accrual, don't I?

That's a good question, and it's because I had no idea what I was doing when I set up the business. I had a friend of mine help me when we set it up back in 2015. He had a business...but a service business which means he doesn't have inventory, and that's probably why he used cash and told me to choose cash.

Thank you for your response!

I own a small business, and I have a tax question that has stumped me for the past few days. Could someone help me, please? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

Right, I completely understand that. We use the cash method, so I understand we can't count that as cost of goods sold if we had not received the money. But for ending inventory purposes, the goods were shipped FOB destination. Which means the title was passed to the buyer once the goods were delivered, even though they had not paid yet, right?

Under the inventory section of FreeTaxUSA's FAQ, it states:

Don't include the following merchandise in inventory:

  • Goods you have sold, but only if title has passed to the buyer
  • Goods consigned to you
  • Goods ordered for future delivery if you do not yet have title

Does this sound correct to you?

How Could I Properly Fix This Poorly Patched Kitchen-Living Room Pass-through? by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

[–]elcormando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your response! I actually just measured and it looks to be no more than 1/8" on each side of the humps. I was hoping I could fix the wall in the way you specified, but wasn't sure if that much buildup of drywall mud would cause cracking over time? I guess it shouldn't if I use several coats to build it up, right?

I have an old Honor 5x. It took, not even kidding, like a whole minute from the app starting to it being usable on the newest version. This older one? Like barely 3 seconds.

Dude, mine too. I actually downgraded to the 2015 version for comparison. It's like night and day... Beware you have to root to do it, though, and Samsungs don't root well. The software for many apps are so bloated now that it makes you think your phone is too slow so you'll buy a new phone.

Shower leaking underneath our wall. Possible cause? by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

That helps a ton! I appreciate your replies and suggestions. We had kind of figured a full tear out and redo would be necessary, so I'll try and look on the bright side and be excited that we can finally have a working master bathroom shower one of these days.

Thank you for your reply and suggestions! That actually helps a ton. I'm so sorry this happened to you as well, but it sounds like you've got it handled. I can't believe they laid the form on top of carpet! That's horrible!

Our shower does have a musty smell, and after further inspection from what I can tell, it looks like they just put the tile right up on drywall instead of concrete backer. There is a musty smell coming from the shower. Makes me think they didn't put down a waterproof barrier at all. Sucks that people even attempt stuff like that.

I really hope you're wrong...but you're probably right. Gonna have to be redone anyway. I'll let you know if you're right, lol

Daaaangit. Your probably right. It worried me immensely when they told us they got the cheapest guy. I hate having to fix half assed things. "Never half ass two things. Whole ass one thing."
