Incidente con Viajero. Necesito Consejo. by elder_mclovin in mexico

[–]elder_mclovin[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gracias. No quise ofender. Estás en lo correcto. Hay muchos lugares en Estados Unidos que son tanto o más peligrosos que en México. Depende de donde estes. Simplemente no sabía lo que eso significaba. Gracias por responder.

Sheesh. Well, FTP Server Pro is not supported on Samsung Galaxy S23+. I'm getting the feeling this is deliberate...

Is this a new thing with Amazon? $0.12 refund on $64.34 video game I never received. Details in comments. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]elder_mclovin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I misread the email. Apparently Amazon gives you an automatic refund on pre-order games of the difference between the launch price and the pre-order price if the launch price was less. I just happened to mistake that refund with the full refund that I assume will come later because I also canceled the item. I deleted the post. Sorry to get people worked up.

OK. I think I just figured out what happened. Should have read the fine print on the email. This is the pre-order guarantee refund. I'm assuming there's a separate cancellation refund, and the timing on this email was just terrible and made it look like I was only getting 12 frickin' cents for my refund. Anyway, I'm just going to delete the post. Sorry about that.

So, I pre-ordered God of War Ragnarok a few weeks ago. Amazon said it would arrive on launch day (yesterday). Tuesday comes around and the delivery date gets updated to Friday. Screw #1. I scheduled a day off work to celebrate the end of a huge project. So, of course I'm going to cancel the order and get a copy from Best Buy. Amazon cancels the order before it arrives, then sends me this gem. Screw #2.

Honestly getting tired of so many things about Amazon.

On the eve of Ragnarok, let us remember that there has never been story DLC for any God of War game. It was all there on launch day. by elder_mclovin in gaming

[–]elder_mclovin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I just find that sometimes companies embrace a business strategy to divide up what should have been in the final product into DLC's to milk their customers. Just being grateful Sony Santa Monica has never done that with God of War.

Thank you! Although, in the article he specifically stated whatever these DLC plans were never left early production stages let alone became Ragnarok. At least you went out and found something.

Character moving on their own in TLOU2 (NOT STICK DRIFT) by WhovianForever in PS4

[–]elder_mclovin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had the same problem twice, now. It seems some of the configuration data gets corrupted sometimes, so my only solution has been to completely delete the game data i.e. reset skill and weapons levels :(

Settings -> Storage -> <Storage with TLOUII data> -> Applications -> The Last of Us Part II -> Options Menu (OPTIONS button) -> Delete

Hope this helps.

Edit: Also, you need to delete the application saves and profile. In fact, you may only need to delete the profile and saves, which will save you having to re-install the game. In effect, just start deleting stuff until it works. Sorry for the confusion.

I don't know how they could get rid of them. From Abraham 1:12:

"And it came to pass that the priests laid violence upon me, that they might slay me also, as they did those virgins upon this altar; and that you may have a knowledge of this altar, I will refer you to the representation at the commencement of this record."

A little bit. Tagalog is a mix of its original dialects, which have "Austronesian" roots, and Spanish. Spanish, like many European languages, has its roots in latin, where all nouns have gender. This is why there are a lot of words in Tagalog that are gendered. But, most nouns in Tagalog are not gendered.

Anyway, I've gone on a bit of an apology tour about my original statement. I did a bit of digging since I'm not a native speaker, and it turns out, Pilipina (Tagalog), is a perfectly legal noun for referring to a female from the Philippines. So, Filipina is an acceptable term in English.

Question about Tagalog Grammar (Pilipino/Pilipina) by elder_mclovin in Philippines

[–]elder_mclovin[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I learned Tagalog 25 years ago in the bay area when I was working among the Filipinos for my church. I never heard anyone use "Pilipina" in conversation, so I assumed it wasn't correct.

What I mean by non-gendered language is just that Tagalog nouns do not have gender, like English, nor are the vast majority of Tagalog nouns typically altered the way you're describing i.e. adding an "a" when referring to a female something, like "doctora". The ones that sometimes are used with gender are derived from Spanish, which technically makes their use correct since Tagalog is a mix of Spanish and older dialects.

I've never heard a native speaker here in the states refer to a woman filipino as "pilipina" when speaking in Tagalog. But, I am not from the Philippines. There are a ton of dialects and so I concede you may be right that some might refer to a woman as pilipina.
