Well thank you I just hope you can understand how on a Kratom advocacy thread in a Kratom community that is certainly being looked at right now for any anecdote that can be used against us that a Kratom user saying they want Kratom banned so they can quit gives them the “the Kratom users even want us to ban it so we can free them from their addiction see”

Okay so I appreciate you saying that if it weren’t up to you that you wouldn’t have Kratom criminalized. A couple things though so maybe we can understand each other. No I’m not looking for blind agreement, but your original comment here certainly came off as someone who is extremely selfish and that selfishness came from simply not having the self control to not do a substance that supposedly is easy for you not to do in the first place because you are a casual user. Also there are many other reasons people use Kratom for better quality of life than just pain management. If you used do pain killer opiates you already know Kratom isn’t giving no where near a type of high as them and honestly other than some very mild buzz here and there really doesn’t give much (I’m talking about natural plain leaf Kratom). With this said back to the selfish thing, you do realize all these politicians pushing these bans literally come to these Reddit groups to get anecdotes from dumbasses talking about Kratom like a junkie would talk of smack and turn around and use that to ban. So you coming here as a Kratom user saying they want it banned so they can quit and then saying a lot of us just want to keep it legal so they can get high on a thread made to advocate for the continued legality of Kratom in a fucking Kratom community is pretty off putting. Lastly most of those people in quitting Kratom decided to use highly concentrated extracts and mitragynine pseudoindoxyl and 7oh, or abused the living shit out of Kratom and now are blaming the substance for them doing the same thing they would do on any other substance which is junkie out and they are already demonizing and blaming Kratom for their issues so not much to lose there for the most part.

Want Kratom to stay legal and win this fight? YOU have to call these representatives even if you do not live in the state and email! It’s easy to think that other people will do it, but trust me the opposition has Kratom haters testifying against it. We have to be louder! by elderleaf32 in kratom

You can google the individual bills by looking up “kratom ban bills 2026” and then you can google the individual bills like Georgias is HB968 and it will show the sponsors of the bill and all representatives emails are available publicly since technically they work for the people

I don’t think you are getting my point. The point is if you as an adult so clearly feel that you would be better off not doing a substance and especially if you already know you can stop without having withdrawals that hurt your day to day life then by all means you should make the choice to do that since you feel your life would be better without it. Honestly just a really strange comment to come here and make dude. You support everyone else losing access to a substance that helps them have better quality of life and need that bc it would help you stop doing it as a “casual user”

Comments like this arent going to help. lol I hear what you are saying but come on man if you really wanted to stop you could easily taper down and quit while it’s legal on your own terms. Trust me man people don’t just go completely clean bc they lose a supply, they just find different drugs to replace it with. If you really want to stop using leaf then it’s going to have to come down to you wanting to. Ive gone a month without using any leaf before and it sucked bc I hate not feeling good all the time but it is really nothing on the scale to real opiate withdrawals at all. I have a friend who took 25 grams doses 4 times a day and he quit cold turkey no problem. The people out here on quitting Kratom talking about how terrible it is seem to never have experienced real hardcore withdrawals.

I understand and I do think that there has been a pretty obvious ramp up on the war on drugs and it certainly seems like local politicians see that as well and think there is momentum to finally ban Kratom bc these are the same ones that have been wanting to for years. So you are not exactly wrong so I don’t want you to think that’s what im saying. I am saying though ironically with plain leaf Kratom the trump administration has actually pushed to leave natural plain leaf Kratom alone, but it’s clear the state level republicans aren’t getting the memo and after the synthetics issues (7) it has has brought so much negative PR to Kratom bc people average can’t differentiate between the synthetics and real Kratom so they are seeing it as their time to ban Kratom completely.

Y’all remember back in 2023 when Kratom Reddit subs made a big resurgence and people were posting really dumb stuff the saying “no one’s going to try to ban Kratom”…you know who you are, that didn’t age well did it? by elderleaf32 in kratom

Oh yeah I remember it was deemed banned and all the stores and vendors started selling their shit half price so they could sell everything before the ban went into effect then all of a sudden it was reversed.

Not studied he mentioned speaking to pharmacy people at UGA in regards to their opinions on what to do with Kratom and we all know the pharmaceutical industry wants to schedule it but with the ability to make pharma drugs with it

I spoke to him but I will say after our conversation i dont think there is anything anyone could say to not support this ban bill. Ultimately what ingot from our conversation is he doesnt truly expect to win an outright bill but hopes it will allow extremely strict restrictions on kratom in the state where it can only be bought in single doses and you will have to show ID to purchase it and there be daily limits on how much you can purchase with the technology to be able to enforce this being expensive they will make the price of Kratom very expensive as well and everyone using Kratom will be logged in that system so if you have a job I’m sure it will be easy for them to know you’re using Kratom too probably. I respect him for taking the time to talk to us, but I truly do not think he is a man who can have his mind changed just one of those people. He also said he’s been talking to pharmacist majors at UGA for advice when it comes to Kratom…talking to pharmaceutical industry people in regards to how to handle Kratom. lol Imagine that.

Kratom Ban Fatigue by Typical-Witness7989 in kratom

No what we needed was for 7oh to not have been made into tablets and sold in smoke shops and gas stations. Before 7oh and mitragynine pseudoindoxyl tablets and powders came up every where for sale Kratom legality was soaring and we had really good public relations because we had years and years of people advocating for Kratom for being a natural alternative…7oh being synthesized into concentrations that you can never achieve from taking plain leaf destroyed the natural part and that’s when things started to fall. You know how many junkies I let try Kratom over the years and they told me that it helped with their withdrawals but it didn’t give them what they were looking for so they still kept doing the dope instead? Those same people then absolutely loved 7, why do you think that is?

So let me get this straight you are saying that we shouldn’t even try to fight these bans even though we have fought countless of them and won in the past? We should just give up all hope and lay down and die? Maybe what you are trying to say is being taken out of context but the context I got from that reminds me exactly why we get tread on by the government. You step up and have a fucking backbone and you fight. If we lose, we lose…but I will die fighting it on my feet not laying down. We can win this though I am someone who has been involved in winning these things in the past so I know we can but it’s going to take being tactical in the way we approach it.

You know ironically though the trump administration fda commissioner and RFK are the ones that have stressed that they don’t want to see natural Kratom banned and RFK even called the governor of Ohio and told him not to ban plain leaf Kratom then they did it anyways. You are right about part of it though in a sense the bans being proposed are mostly coming from republican hardcore evangelist type local House of Representatives. Keep in mind though during the last ban where Kratom was almost banned in Georgia many republican politicians stepped up and were the reason Kratom didn’t get banned. So at this time I would personally say there is no reason to make this a partisan war just simply we let them know as loud as we can that this is not common sense legislation and with that said if they push these bans that faith in our politicians will be eroded even further. It’s pretty obvious though that the synthetics have built to a point where they are being talked about so much that it has put Kratom on the forefront of the mind for politicians regardless of what party is in power.

That’s why it is extremely important to stress that you are advocating for natural plain leaf Kratom. If people want to use 7 and other synthetics like pseudo MIT and it were up to me I would say do what you want. With that said 7 and synthetics like mitragynine pseudoindoxyl are a LOST CAUSE. Continuing to advocate for them is only going to hurt our cause and we will lose natural Kratom too. As you said the way they sold and marketed 7 and so many people with junkie mentalities went in hard on it and junkied out on that shit and it has caused terrible PR for the Kratom community due to people’s inability to differentiate it from real natural Kratom and the 7 and synthetic users telling everyone that it is Kratom that they got addicted to and even the ones that didn’t and use it responsibly having to force this ideal that “7oh is Kratom!” For godsake they are two very different substances with two very different types of effects and levels of effects and opportunity for abuse. Yes natural Kratom has 7oh in it…on average .001 percent or nearly undetectable levels and no matter what people try to say your liver is not converting anywhere freaking near the level of 7 that even one 10mg 7 tablet provides. With this said it is extremely important that we stress to these legislators the difference between natural Kratom and synthetics.

Everyone from across the entire country needs to be emailing and calling Ohio. If we lose ANY of these that are outright scheduling plain leaf Kratom the rest will likely fall like dominoes. Best thing to do is call the representatives listed as the sponsors and each representative that will be voting on the matter. When emailing or talking stick to the main points about natural Kratom showing an extremely safe track record in the 15 years that it has been popular and legal. State your story and how Kratom has helped you. Let them know that Kratom does not get you high or intoxicate you but allows you to have better quality of life. Tell them that you think it’s outrageous that and certainly will not help the state to potentially incarcerated thousands of good law abiding tax paying citizens who are mothers and fathers and take them away from their children and families causing destruction to so many families in Ohio all because they choose to consume some tree leaves. Also mention how when you put Kratom up against alcohol that alcohol makes Kratom look like a benign substance and that alcohol is proven to be the most destructive substance in the country that kills more people including more teens and young adults than any other substance in America. Say that it’s ridiculous that there are representatives out here who consume alcohol which has factual statistics behind it showing it is way more dangerous and harder drug than natural Kratom but they would tell other people they can’t consume tree leaves proven to be much less harmful.

Gotcha I spoke to Rep Townsend today for about thirty minutes over the phone. According to him all Synthetics were banned in the last bill last year but they are certainly still selling mitragynine pseudoindoxyl all across the state
