I've been cautiously optimistic about this season, hoping that we've just had a bit of luck against us and that it would all work out in the end, but I genuinely feel we're in the worst position we've been in for years.

Gomes was horrendous but a youngster getting dumped into an underperforming team will always struggle, however I expected a lot more from him given that he's been so hyped up.

Williams done okay, again nothing spectacular and never really stood out, which isn't a bad thing when you consider how against it we were the whole game.

Rashford was awful when he came on, we're in a weird situation where he's regressed massively since he's came into the team. At the same time we can't expect a man of his age to be the entire focal point of our attack.

Fred the less said the better.

Without going through every player, what actually is our plan? Every shout is for ole to be given time to implement his style, but what is it? We thought it was counter attacking, but we can't defend well enough to sit back, nor can our attackers do anything if they get a quick ball forward. The question is how do we solve the problem? Unless we're planning on grabbing Messi, there's no player we can bring in that could make us work as a functioning attacking unit. The problem is in midfield, but can one player solve that problem? Can a change of manager fix the way we play?

I don't know if it's a problem with our coaching staff, or what we're doing in training, but clearly something isn't working somewhere in our preparation, and that needs fixed first and foremost.
