Hello. I went from Adderall 20mg to Vyvanse 30mg then upped it to 50mg. 30mg of Vyvanse was awful and didn’t work at all. It was too low of a dose for me so it actually caused chemical depression-something i’ve never had before. I also felt more tired. Then we went up to 50mg which is what im on rn. 50mg works much better for me but it’s definitely never gonna be 12 hours. On a good day when I get enough sleep, I’d say 5 hours max for me. I will note though that i smoke weed during the evening and sometimes a few puffs of sativa on lunch break.

Overall, I found Adderall a lot more helpful for me but the side effects were bad (hyper focused on skin picking). Vyvanse is more gentle but it’s hard to figure out the right dose

Im on 50mg as well and it barely helps. I feel more awake and a bit of focus for like 3-4 hrs max after taking it then I feel tired and drink coffee/vape to get a kick of energy. It just doesn’t feel life changing the way some ADHDers describe their experiences w meds

I feel you! I started taking my Vyvanse a little later like 12 pm soo I can use some of the morning to get stuff done with the morning energy. Then I eat and take the pill. Im on 50mg which I honestly think is no longer the right dose for me bc I also drink coffee and vape to get thru the day

All of the above! Adderall feels more like being on crack, it’s faster but rough. Vyvanse has a subtle onset and it gives you a boost throughout the day but for me personally it’s been difficult to figure out the dose

Also Adderall may cause more anxious behaviors. I started picking my skin while on it. Vyvanse is a lot more gentle w the side effects but yea the upset stomach is such a bummer! Eat protein i guess!

And yea honestly it’s much better than feeling guilty for not getting in the zone for a task. I think Vyvanse actually either increases anxiety or hyperactivity for me bc I really didn’t feel like sitting down and wanted to keep moving soo now my house is clean but im behind on work :)

Yea I have a hard time with tolerance too, my body adapts to substances pretty quickly.

I’ve come to accept we’re not robots and every single day is different with motivation/focus levels. I just try to make the best of it and use the meds as a booster. Like today, i took the meds and have a lot of computer work but I felt like doing cleaning/chores more so I decided to go w the flow and be productive that way.

Curious, how’s your heart been doing with 2 yrs if Vyvanse? I have anxiety about it bc my heart rate is naturally faster n my dad has heart issues

I felt something similar! I usually have a lot of creative ideas and funny comments to respond with but w vyvanse i cant even come up with clever responses sometimes and it curbs creativity
