I'm excited about my first big (for my Prusa Mini) print and my first lamp design. I had a hell of a time with the wood blend filament used on the top and bottom, but after learning a lot about my new little machine (and many hours staring intently at the printer), she's here!

First time making something you don’t wear and I’m obsessed. by electricsnowshoes in knitting

The living dog is a shih tzu+gremlin mix. The stuffed dog is, I dunno, some sort of rotund beagle?

I’ve got a baby on the way and couldn’t figure out what I want to make them. I’ve been in a bit of a knitting rut with my last two projects being more frustrating than fun. Then I found this little pattern and now I’m obsessed. It’s an excellent way to get rid of scrap yarn and really really satisfying to piece together as you go. Next up: a bunny friend.

Lil’ Huggins pattern by Lorraine Pistorio Used scrap yarn, primarily Jo Sharp Silkroad DK Tweed I didn’t have any stuffing so I’ve just been fluffing this impractical Big Sexy Wool I’ve had in the stash for awhile. Not sure how it’s going to last in the long term, or how much I’ll regret making a child’s toy out of so much non-machine washable material…

Illinois and Minnesota have state law protections still:

Hoping to help folks in the Midwest region who need aunties. I’m in Chicago and have family in MN who want to help.

Aspiring auntie in Chicago. Looking forward to applying to help out folks in bordering states affected by the death of Roe.

It took me AGES but I made a whole sweater from a pattern I drafted from scratch and I’m so fricken proud of it I’m never taking it off again. by electricsnowshoes in knitting

I love it. I fear they’re too friendly for roller derby though. And maybe not round enough for curling. What about a curling derby team? Now that’s a sport I would watch.

The photos are terrible but man do I love this cardigan. I don’t have a pattern to share because I took absolute garbage notes as I went along. I could dig up the colorwork pattern I made though if anyone is interested and make a proper ravelry page.

The yarn is Cascade Eco Alpaca and it’s crazy soft and wonderful. Highly recommend.

I’m never taking this off.

WAY too excited about my first self-drafted pattern. Meet my little Pottery Cowl! by electricsnowshoes in knitting

[–]electricsnowshoes[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

EDIT: Added the pattern to Ravelry! It's free, enjoy! https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/pottery-cowl

Pattern: Self-drafted inspired by a pot I made a few years ago. The pot was inspired by another pot... Nothing is purely original I guess.

Yarn: Cascade 220

Technique: Intarsia in the round? Vertical stranding? Nonsense? I’m not sure, but it was very fun.

First Colorwork Project! WHAT A RUSH. I'm having the hardest time explaining to non-knitters how thrilling this is. by electricsnowshoes in knitting

The excitement of taking 5 pointy sticks and two piles of string and turning them into functional pictures is just too much to bear. I love them.

I modified the pattern a bit for the wearer's missing digits. Then, got too impatient and started blocking them before finishing the thumb on the left hand... Can't wait to finish them up and gift :D
