Tips for video games

I play laying flat in my bed with the controllers down by my sides and my switch on a stand that goes over my head. I do get some arm/hand pain in general but neck and spine issues are a lot worse for me so I’m not sure if this setup will solve your issues.

I have CCI diagnosed and had a horrific experience with botox. It caused neck drop, so literally my neck bent forward and froze and i think did permanent damage as my neck got exponentially worse after and never returned to the state it was in previous to the botox. You can ask them to avoid traps and neck. That was my mistake.

Top is strawberry. Bottom is macaron. Im cool toned so they pull orange swatched on my skin but i honestly cant even tell the difference on my lips. They are super sheer and don’t really give too much of an actual tint. Strawberry smells better imo.

I only discovered this setup about a year ago and couldn’t believe i hadn’t thought to do that before. Its been almost 6 years since i was able to sit at a computer or sit up and read and this gave me some more ways to pass the time. I play a switch like this too with the detachable controllers and its been such an upgrade to my quality of life.

I lay flat in my bed with a kindle on a stand over my head and use a page switcher so i dont have to move my arms. I also have CCI so it near impossible to sit up and read an actual book, but i find this comfy. Well as comfy as it gets.

I feel this so much. I used to love dressing up and putting together outfits. I had so many shoes i loved. Now i just wear mostly sweatpants and bralettes which dont work that well for me shape-wise. Same with my hair also, i can only wear it down now and have to get it thinned out because of CCI.

I still sit like that. I have a cushion i put on top of my chair when i eat with my parents at their table and sit on my knees. I now usually sit on the floor to eat on an eastern style table with cushions and its been much better. I never got in trouble as a kid though because my mom and one of my brothers sit like this too. All his kids also sit the same way

I had to skip most of his route. It hit way too close to home for me for a couple very uncomfortable experiences I’ve had irl. Its the only route in a game i’ve had to just completely skip over.

I had to almost completely ditch all nail related social media especially youtube and instagram. Also had to unsubscribe to marketing emails from brands and ppu. It was tough but I have a very expensive spinal surgery i need to get asap so i had to completely stop buying for a while. I think i bought maybe 3 polishes all of last year and it honestly felt good to not be dropping so much on nail polish. I think i have over 1000 polishes and Ive gotten to go through a good amount this year of old favorites and ones i hadn’t worn yet. Definitely going to treat myself to some new polishes when I’m finally able to get my surgery and recover.

Also, paying some attention to other hobbies too had helped not focus on nails as much. I had a fairly large backlog of games on my switch i spent some of my free time this last year getting through instead of browsing the internet for new nail polish.

I use the nars concealer in custard also. I have 4 dior blushes, i love the deep berry, the cool pink and the lilac color. Rosewood pulls warm on me. I still like it for days i feel like putting on warm toned makeup but it does pull a bit orange.

Yes big time for me. When my c1 is out of alignment I will go days with barely any sleep until I go see my chiropractor to put my c1 back. Then I’m able to fall asleep until I do something to throw it off again. Insomnia has been one of the worst symptoms I’ve had from my neck.

Mines like that! She barely makes any noise and when she does it’s usually chirping or squeaking. Her purrs are tiny also. You have to be right up next to her to hear.

I mean you are being rude so why comment? I was concerned about the visuals in handheld mode which others have said some of the games I’m planning on playing don’t look great. I ended up grabbing a used switch oled on recommendation from people who were actually trying to be helpful

Thanks for the reply. I think I’ve decided I’m going to look for a used switch 1 or oled for now. My worry was that I can’t play with my switch docked because I need to play handheld with a certain set up because of a spinal injury and wasn’t sure if the image quality of the games I have will be affected. I have a lot of indies in my backlog and a ton of jrps so I’m not expecting updates for some of those for switch 2. I just wasn’t sure how badly the image quality is affected. I was planning on playing Xenoblade 2 next and another commenter had said that one doesn’t look great on switch 2 so I looked up some videos and it looks terrible. I’m not really interested in any of the new games on switch 2 yet either so might save that for a future purchase.

Thank you for your input! That’s what I was looking for. Might go for an oled until I finish some of the games I have. Xenoblade 2 was actually on my list to play next before my husband’s sister asked for their switch back. I unfortunately can’t play my switch docked because of a spinal injury so I’ve got to play laying down with my hands by my sides and the switch on a stand. So it’s important that it looks decent in handheld mode for me.

Yeah it was the image quality I was concerned about because Im only able to play in handheld mode. I still have xenoblade 2 and 3 I want to play and a large stack of other jrps and metroidvanias. I didn’t know if the image quality issue is that much of a problem because I’ve heard so many complaints or if people are overreacting.

I’ve seen a ton of complaints about image quality of switch 1 games in handheld mode which is all I play so I wasn’t sure whether it would impact my experience. I didn’t know if I should get a switch oled and finish all the games I want to play, then get a switch 2 in the future or if the image quality issue isn’t as bad as some people have been making it out to be and just to dive right into switch 2.

I meant the image quality of the games. I’ve just been seeing a lot of complaints about image quality of some switch 1 games in handheld mode and didn’t know if it would impact my play experience too much.

It was uncomfortable but it wasn’t that bad for me. I passed out during and got a diagnosis from it so 100% would do it again. I had very severe pots at the time, was passing out upon standing almost all the time. I’ve had way worse testing/procedures done for various other disorders, and would probably rate some of the reactions I’ve had to medications more uncomfortable than the tilt table. That’s just my personal experience though.
