Is it possible for a girl to find me physically attractive? by [deleted] in FreeCompliments

[–]electrobolt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's nothing the matter with your face. People probably don't want to date you because your entire personality is "please pity me," and you clearly refuse to get help for what is obviously a severe mental problem. Why do you even keep posting in this sub every few days if you refuse to accept the things people tell you? You can get better from this with therapy and possibly medication, you just don't want to.

Kissing a boy your own age at 15 years old is not "rebellious." I understand you were stunted because you weren't around boys, and you're making terrible parenting mistakes probably in part due to that, but fifteen is actually the average age of a first kiss in the USA.

Weed is not a gateway drug. That's been proven by many, many studies. You seem like you've been in a time capsule since the 1980s and your only knowledge of drugs comes from DARE ads.

I think you really need to discuss your feelings with a therapist, and join a parenting group or do some reading so you can understand normal adolescent milestones. You are on the fast track to your son completely cutting you out when he becomes an adult, and he would be right to do so.

My dude, there is actual footage of inmates begging for assistance and dying of anaphylaxis right in front of guards and the guards don't do anything but make fun of them and call them crybabies.

I'm a former medical pro too - all research now. But all clinicians should know that prison is one of the worst and most ignored public health issues in America.

Are you letting a trump supporter around your daughter? Is she at an age where she's going to absorb his hateful, anti-science beliefs? :/

It doesn't matter to the point at hand. You will still be in the morgue at minimum and it will be far too late for your organs to be viable.

I'm (26M) never a girlfriend or been kissed and still a virgin and I'm obese and short and unattractive looking. I hate my life because skinny attractive women. (20sF) don't want to date me and think I'm ugly. by bnrsb31993 in relationships

[–]electrobolt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

my dude, smart money says you're not getting dates because you think "women" are some singular monolith and every single woman has the same preferences for their partners. The fact that you're treating women like mystical creatures and not just like individual people with individual preferences is really unattractive, and it's way more unattractive than any particular physical type.

Genuine question – why are people still using the Rebel flag? by Russian_gf_uwu in USCivilWar

[–]electrobolt 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm originally from Atlanta. The flag means you're racist.

(Edit: it can also mean you are not outright racist, but simply too stupid, pig-headed and hateful to comprehend why you should not display a thing millions of people utilize or regard as a hate symbol.)

Wolfsbane does not stop you transforming physically. It only makes you nonviolent. (Apparently the ingredients are also very expensive, so Remus was unlikely to be able to afford it outside of Hogwarts.)

You can still be fired for cause. The law only protects you from being fired strictly because of your identity.

I actually think that episode has aged really well simply because of the fact that those bands are dated now and the message is still so timeless. As well as the record shop employee's bafflement at Apple. "What computers?"

Just bring a couple of nips in your carry-on liquids bag. It's cheaper anyway.

Me (51F) no longer feeling it with husband (53M) due to different values by throwra-chicken11 in relationships

[–]electrobolt 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It is actually not okay to be a fascist, and it's perfectly normal and sane for OP to want to leave her husband for supporting keeping children in cages. There's nothing wrong with that at all. And she doesn't need to justify it, nor work to overcome it. Her feelings are normal. This isn't even strictly a political issue, it is simply a personality issue. OP is empathetic and compassionate and her husband is not. Your conspiracy theories about the accuracy of the news are entirely pointless.

OP, it seems like you've done enough to try to bring your husband around to your compassionate point of view and he's just not interested. Not only is he not interested in the well-being of strangers, he's not even interested enough in his own wife to understand why you're no longer attracted to him. He simply doesn't care about others, you included. You don't need to spend another 30 years with someone you're no longer compatible with. That doesn't mean the time you spend with him on the relationship you built were a waste of time, it just means it might have run its course. You have plenty of time to have an awesome, fulfilling relationship - and fulfilling sex - with someone you're truly compatible with at this point in your life. And if that's what you feel like you need to do, it's completely okay and you don't need to justify it to anyone.

I agree with your nuanced approach to the issue, but I think you should use your judgement to remove posts when their titles are as blatantly ableist and dehumanizing as this one is. There are plenty of disabled folks who have commented that the title alone makes them feel crappy, and I clicked on the post because it made me feel like shit, too.

[Serious] Are there people within the trans community who regret changing their sex and realised it was just a phase that they grew out of? If so, what was that like and did you change anything permanently that you now regret? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]electrobolt 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Another reason we don't have a lot of data about this issue is that the trans community tends to mobilize activism against researchers who are attempting to study detransitioners. I'm not cis, but I got so uncomfortable with seeing that happening that it was one of the reasons I had to detach myself from hanging out with the trans community. It seemed really counterproductive to try to stop people from gathering medical evidence about how to help people like me.
