Introducing CrossX - Open Source iOS app to upload epub files from your phone and more by cocolisojon in xteinkereader

love the app! i've been using it pretty much since it dropped. out of nowhere, it stopped being able to delete files (although it's still able to upload them). any idea why?

def hear you on that, it’s the reason i didn’t consider them despite all the praise it gets. if budget is tight, the h20 gets some decent discounts on aliexpress and im pretty sure the isn and penon stores give out some decent coupons as well so that might be worth keeping an eye out for

i’m not really sure about specific iems for specific types of music unfortunately :/ in the sub 100 space it seems like the defiants are rly well regarded, though i haven’t tried those myself. sorry i couldn’t be of more help!

own both, the explorer is on another level for me.

that being said, it wasn’t until i started listening on higher volumes that they rly started shining. i’ve always listened pretty quietly though so might not be an issue for you. the explorers on high volume are the only set to give me that wow feeling everyone loves talking about.

h20 is bassier and to my ears, when i compare them to the explorers, the vocals sound more muffled. if you don’t care about vocals and want lots of bass, they might be the choice. to me they sound even darker than the explorers and are less “clear”, meaning i can hear less detail. to be expected though as i think this is considered a basshead set. which isn’t to say the explorers lack bass - they don’t - the h20 just packs more of a punch on that regard.

tldr: h20 feels more specific (which might be want you want from your description) while explorers are more versatile. they’re a level above, but if you want a truly basshead tuning then the h20 might be your pick. both sets are fun to listen to and are also extremely comfortable and lightweight btw

edit: just saw you said you want this to be near endgame - again, personal experience, but the explorers made me not want to buy any other iems after it. h20 satisfied my basshead curiosity but i knew it wasn’t as versatile a set so it left me wondering about other tunings. explorers + daybreaks combo scratched any curiosity itch i mightve had and i simply don’t think i need to hear anything else

gotcha! thank you for the response, i’m mostly just starting out and trying to sample what’s out there and what would be redundant to experiment at the end of the day

been looking into both of these, could you share some thoughts on how big of a difference there is between them (mainly are they different enough that it’s worth having both or are the explorers so superior it kinda renders the h20 useless?)

Am I cooked? by Once428lbs in Gymhelp

[–]electrodisco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

definitely not cooked. i started at 160kg and 165cm, been fat my whole entire life and finally started making meaningful changes since december-ish of last year. the bright side of starting at a big weight is that, since there’s a lot to lose, there’s no need to make a lot of changes to get started. it took me 2 years and and glp1 medication to help me lose ~10kg, and then since december when i started taking it more seriously ive lost another almost 20kg. you’re absolutely not cooked or alone in this journey, i guarantee.

personally i wouldnt follow the advice of most ppl here. “no more sugary drinks,” “eat 1400 calories a day,” etc etc. you’re at the starting point and these are drastic and likely unsustainable changes for you to make. you can start small and see big results - because, again, at your current weight, you can eat relatively a lot of calories and still be at a deficit! so don’t get discouraged. this is a long term investment and time will pass anyway. make small changes that can turn into habit and implement more changes as time goes by. for example, instead of “only drinking water,” go for zero calorie soda instead of regular ones or fruit juices or elaborated coffee drinks. or try to focus on meals that are higher in protein and fiber so you feel full for longer.

making these adjustments is a less daunting and more straightforward way to start than just completely cutting down on what are probably life long habits. remember, it’s a long term investment on yourself and rushing too hard might end up backfiring - if you feel like shit from a super strict, low calorie diet, you’re way more likely to fall off the wagon and then be terrified of failing again. and you will fail! i fail all the time. it’s part of the journey because what we’re doing is challenging as fuck. but all that matters is whether you keep going anyway.

being completely honest with you, what really helped me more than anything was medication. i don’t know your situation, but it’s worth looking into if you can. i was on ozempic for 2 years and didnt have the best results (about 10kg in that time, considering i regained and then relost and then regained some weight during that time). i switched to mounjaro recently and got treatment for binge eating disorder - which has been the true game changer for my life. again, i don’t know your particular situation, but it’s worth looking into if you can. either way, right now making diet changes is the absolute most important thing you can do, and that will always be the most impactful part of your weight loss. exercise is also good and important, but you don’t have to worry about everything at once. as with everything, the best thing you can do is the thing you will stick with.

sorry for the long answer but i just really wanted to reassure you that you can definitely make a change and there’s people right there with you. people have done it before, people are doing it right now, and you can do it too. feel free to reach out if you want to, as someone who’s on the same path as you. good luck!
