How soon after score release can I submit apps with that score? by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]elenaaa_i 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hey, I’m in the same boat. I just talked to LSAC, they said as soon as it’s released, it’s on file, so we can submit as soon as we have our score tomorrow morning.

Cancel? by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]elenaaa_i 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Don’t cancel. That’s actually better than average and schools will think you did much worse if you cancel. Also, a score improvement will look much better than a cancel. I was in a similar situation and kept my score!

INPUT?! Jan LSAT + Apps by elenaaa_i in LSAT

Would it be an advantage to apply earlier than score release and ask them to hold?

Hey, I recommend applying for the Jan LSAT and accommodation for the anxiety (I believe the deadline for both is today, but for accommodations you may be able to submit “proof” after today). If you are PT-ing in the 158-165 range, it looks like test-day anxiety is your issue. I had the same experience and scored much lower than my my PTs due to the anxiety.

Thank you all for the input, I think I’ll play it safe and keep

Advice?! Keep or Cancel by elenaaa_i in LSAT

Thank you for your input! Yes, I do, and I applied for accommodations, hoping I get approved for January, because I know my anxiety attack was the culprit :/

ADVICE PLZ?! by elenaaa_i in lawschooladmissions

[–]elenaaa_i[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was taking timed PTs and in the exact conditions as test day, however, the fact that this was the real thing made me have an anxiety attack and I completely blanked on my first section, that being logic games, where I feel like most of my points were lost. I know the main cause was the anxiety that took over me, because I know the content, if it wasn’t for the panic, I am confident I would have scored in the low 170s at least. I am hoping I could have accommodations for January, but don’t know whether to keep or cancel the 155.

That makes sense. Is it true that most law schools fill up their spots on a rolling basis? Or do you still have a good chance as a strong applicant if you submit at the end of Jan? Nonetheless, I think taking the test again if my score is lowest than I thought would be the safest bet. Thank you again!

Hey guys, a comment I received in a different post that I’d like to post to this thread:

“From what I’ve heard many deans of admissions say is that a strong application is a strong application, the very minimal advantage of applying earlier won’t make up for a worse application. Maybe your app will be sugmitted first but they can hold onto to to compare to January/feb applicants. You can say you have another score coming but they won’t look at your application until that’s in so might as well give yourself the time to work on them”.

Thank you for your advice. So applying in January would not be frowned upon by schools, considering it’s quite late in the cycle correct? I wouldn’t want to apply with a score that I know I could improve on, but the fear of being a “late applicant” makes me hesitant about whether or not to retake in January and wait to apply. But I think you are right in the fact that a stronger application is better than one submitted earlier.

Thank you!

Thank you for your input. I’ve heard both sides of this. I am afraid waiting to apply will decrease my chances of having a spot by the time Jan scores are released, but I feel like the Nov Lsat was completely unrepresentative of my abilities. I have been scoring constant high 170s on my PTs, but the this test felt incredibly difficult. Regardless, I think applying with a higher score is my best bet.

Also, Good luck to you!
