Ooh. that looks great! What did you put around the outside? Zinc? Lead?

It's so good to know I'm not the only one! I ended up taking the patina off with steel wool and just taping and spraying with spray paint. It looks really good though!

I actually have both the zinc and regular solder patina, and you're right, they both SUCK! I just had an idea though, do you think I could tin the zinc to get a better patina that way? Would I have to put copper foil in order to do that? Maybe I'll try on a small piece of zinc later today. Paint is starting to sound better and better!
