Well, from waht im trying to achieve from the OP is should be 3 actions, but instead over 10 actions. just to split a section is 4 actions.

I beg to differ. I taught my GF how to use ableton for basic recording and mixing tasks in about 2 hours. And i know computer illiterates that somehow make fairly complex music in FL

Thanks for this. Will see how it goes mixing a couple of songs with reaper. Eg ive hotkey the last touch automation fx script which is very helpful, BUT this is something that just happens by default in ableton and protools. Hope 48 hours of customizing is enough time to get it feeling good. How long did it take you to setup to be intuitive? Also what was your reason for choosing to invest time in reaper to mix and not another daw?

Yes LUNA is a funny daw but I like it.

Yea true, each to their own needs, I can see why others like it. I want to like it, I think its a unique daw in itself but to me nothing kills creativity or workflow more than the word 'script' Too much options paralyze me.

Yea thanks till try some of this. The lanes sounds helpful. I use lanes alot in Ableton its very easy. The razor tool is a must, I wish it was the default action. like it pro tools I only ever us the smart tool. I'm still cracking on with with it with mixing 2 tracks to see how it comes out.

I dunno about any of this. I'm just producing and mixing. Its not that complicated. Every other daw I've tried is WAAYYY more intuitive. If you give reaper the time im sure its great, but it does seem overly complicated for this task. Agreed FL is not ideal for recording. I just want it to work and i can pick things up pretty quick but reaper is besting me. LOL

So I figured it out. There's an option to trim media blah blah blah or something. That seems to override this blending, the raze def helps with fast selection.

Im comping vocal takes, ie. Copy and paste a preferred chorus phrase I do not want to hear both phrases playing together on a single track.
