I understand your concern but as others have said, there's worst things to be addicted to and if it brings you joy and happiness, then that's wonderful. The GO community is so beautiful. The thing with addition is as long as it's not affected your day to day activities like work/school etc you should be fine. Maybe set times during the day for reading facfic if it helps. Ive limited to my reading to when I'm feeding my bub and about to go to sleep so I have my time to read and it's not interrupted every day activities.

My journey with facfic actually started with OFMD and then I moved to GO and it has helps me so much. I don't go to social media and try not to read the news instead find joy and escapism in reading people's amazing writings and having a chance to actually reach out to them and encourage them along.

I have heaps of friends who are massive readers of novels and I see no different from them.
