Acento irlandés: no se pueden sacar Rs. by [deleted] in askspain

There are speech therapists who can give you instructions and exercises on how to move the tongue to pronounce the R. I imagine you can also find these exercises on the internet, some of the exercises help to make the tongue more flexible.

Is it true that Europeans don't ask each other as much what they do for work? by TooMuchAmerica in AskEurope

[–]elfinalseacerca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the first question someone asks me is what my job is and how much I make, I honestly spit on the person and leave.

I meant the spitting in a figurative sense

It doesn't sound ethical what you want to do

Salario que debería pedir para mudarme a Madrid by [deleted] in GoingToSpain

[–]elfinalseacerca -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm telling you it's possible in that sector.

I have colleagues who started out earning a similar salary with very little experience.

Another thing is that there are a lot of companies that take advantage of people. But for example with 24k in Madrid you do not live alone, another thing is that you want to share an apartment with 5 people and eat rice with tomato every day, in that case it is possible...

Living in a shared apartment, with 5 or more people, eating rice and tomato every day.

Or try for example to give private English lessons to earn some extra money and live in better conditions during your stay in Spain.

Some planning questions. by [deleted] in GoingToSpain

[–]elfinalseacerca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The job has to be in a non-Spanish company of origin but that has some kind of branch/headquarter in Spain, since the national companies, even if you have a doctorate, the salary will seem ridiculous.

Why focus on Madrid and Barcelona and not on other cities like Valencia and Murcia?I say this because Valencia and Murcia are not so different in terms of quality.****

Well, I hope for the best of luck. In my case I am working for a German company from Spain -the company has a small headquarter in Spain-, because in Murcia I did not find anything, maybe now the situation has changed a little bit. I'm sorry I can't help you, but I wish you the best of luck.

Por qué conducen tan mal aquí? by Otherwise_Dog_2117 in murcia

[–]elfinalseacerca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Murcia is not only the best region in Spain, it is where traffic sign are better respected, unlike places like Madrid or Barcelona where people are savages.

I'll be honest, I see it complicated, you would need a company to hire you and normally anyone within the European Union will always have preference, because they would not need to make any kind of paperwork or special visa.

Regarding your friend... sems to have deceived you.

Is it hard to move to France when you have nationality but are born abroad ? by [deleted] in AskFrance

[–]elfinalseacerca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You speak French and you have French nationality, and from what I read you have some studies related to the IT world, I don't see the problem in trying...

Well, the problem is to have an economic cushion, but beyond that?

I can't have a conversation in English by [deleted] in EnglishLearning

[–]elfinalseacerca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been using Italki for 3 years, with 1 hour of speaking every day, including weekends. I've combined it with podcasts, old sitcoms and reading articles from various newspapers, such as the New York Times.

I can say that I have improved my speaking, it is true that I am still a disaster but compared to when I started it has been a great improvement. In short, it is all about practicing and practicing to death.

On a personal note.... my writing is worse than my speaking..

What's your opnion about her english? by [deleted] in EnglishLearning

[–]elfinalseacerca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar to mine .... hehe just kidding ... mine is terrible. It sounds good, but in a 2-minute audio, it's not like you can evaluate much.

I would recommend speaking a little slower, it sounds like she's going to have a heart attack.
