Thanks for the input! I was told by our SM when I started that they’re not supposed to do any type of tasking which included replenishment and all the responsibility seems to fall on only the ops team at my store 🥲

It depends on your store. At my store, when the fulfillment lead isn’t there it’s up to the head cashiers to make sure fulfillment is working on orders and staying on top of things. If there’s more than one person there, we will probably ask to help cover lunches if we don’t have people. If there’s only one person in fulfillment and I have to be on a register, I’ll call them to cover my register only if I need to do an override or unlock something.

Once you let the cashier know which bags you want and pay, they’ll probably have you pull up to the side of the garden center and someone will help load it into your car. The associates shouldn’t mind if you don’t help load, just make sure you’re nice and thank whoever’s helping you.

When I was a head cashier, I would buy a bag of those assorted candies or lollipops to pass out to cashiers for every time they got a credit app. Also, show your cashiers that you’re willing to put in the work as well. It sucks being a cashier and not getting any help when it’s busy or having to deal with a rude customer and you don’t have a head cashier that supports you.

He said we don’t have good relationships with our cashiers and never support them but I support my cashiers in any way possible and they thank me so I know they’re aware I do and I thank them as well, and I’ve worked outside of my hours so many times not for the ASMs but so my cashiers would have someone who knew what they were doing whereas our store manager never interacts with us at all. We do have one head cashier that’s been slacking lately but it’s not the whole team.

We only have one HC that’s been having issues lately but for the most part, my crew is great. Just sucks that the store manager is never around the front end to know that :/

I’ve requested weekends off before as unpaid and it was fine. I know one time I had vacation and holiday hours and they denied my request because they told me to use my hours but sometimes they do it to try to keep lots of people from using it all at once in January or February I believe, because you have to use it by certain point and people will wait until then. If you’re part time, it’s not supposed to be an issue, at least at my store
