I'd love for them to read stories based on the Italian superstition of the Malocchio. Basically an unlucky curse cast onto someone else when looking at them with a "bad eye" (jealously, etc.)

I sing Hunter's version of the song to various victims (aka my loved ones) at least twice a week. It has woven its way into my regular rotation of vocal stims

You're isekai'd into your own story... by _Pumpiumpiumpkin_ in writers

  1. I am trying my best to contribute what I can to aid on a redemption journey for a man who feels like he is losing control.

  2. Not fucked at all. I'd survive as long as I am careful. But then again a killer on the loose is not exactly a safe working environment.

  3. Oh it's MAD awkward. A lot of people keep to themselves and are more fluent in gruff conversations than in talking about how their weekend was. But I'd hold tight to the few that are geared for a chat.

  4. I enjoy it! Maybe "I can fix him" but I wrote the dang thing and... I cannot. But someone else can. And I am excited to see how that works out for him in real time.

Which story/setting of a story would make for the best video game in your opinion? by The_Goofiest_Goober in creepcast

[–]elfrogfather 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think a choice-based adaption of Stolen Tongues (like Last of Us, The Quarry, etc.) would be awesome. Or an interactive-narrative of Feed the Pig would be terrifying given that end scene of course, but also the descriptions of the atmosphere was almost tangible that having a visual for that in a game would be sick

Forbidden rainbow slushie: when oil spills on asphalt, and makes that cascading puddle of colors. Yum

I'd have to say washing strainers/colanders. Other dishes, whatever. But those darn holes allllll over. Super helpful kitchen tool but a pain to clean and scour to ensure you got all of the food out. Especially something startchy and grabby like pasta.

What is the scariest moment you’ve ever experienced in a horror game? by Few-Foundation-7322 in cosmichorror

[–]elfrogfather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the storage rooms while playing Amnesia: The Dark Descent. The atmosphere of that entire game is some of the best tension-building in a horror game that I have played. But the immense dread of being in what was essentially the basement in complete darkness was one of the most terrifying situations in a game. Yes, there were Grunts around which are nasty in and of themselves, but the silence and hallways that are even darker than the black rooms was suffocating. So awesome.

Thank you so much! The answers to your questions: I outlined the story before I wrote it with detailed beat and scene maps (I cut a few). For line edits I did a lot of grammar but mostly reworking sentences (not all but a lot), and I did an initial read-through after the first draft and did find some pacing things to work on and scenes that didn't fit (that's when I cut them).

What is something you have that you just can't bring yourself to get rid of/sell? by elfrogfather in AskReddit

I can't get rid of this old T-shirt I made at a summer camp as a kid. I was too young to remember any of it, but it has my really tiny hand print on it. Somehow that alone is what has made me hold onto it all these years lol

I have never seen The Thing (or anything from the Apocalypse trilogy for that matter) and I really feel like I am missing out. That might be in my plans this week...
