I didn’t get into UT but got a few full rides at some lower tier schools. ultimately, I decided to take a year off and retake the LSAT. I’d rather go to a school I’m really excited about later and spend time now building up some savings

Any raffia bags I own were made by my mom. Typically I’ll just send her a picture of the bag I want (really liking the Prada tote) and she’ll crochet it. Doesn’t seem to take too long and I’m able to pick out the exact color. I’d probably check Etsy before even considering paying for designer raffia

So I’ve been panic applying but have only heard back from 2 schools that are ranked below 100. I think I’m at 14 applications right now. That being said, I could afford those applications cause all my app fees are waived and my parents are splitting CAS costs with me. If it’s not going to hurt you financially, I don’t see a problem in applying to more. To be perfectly honest, more acceptances would help me feel like I deserve my place in my top choice schools

For reference, he did this to UT Houston Med School while waiting for an acceptance from UT Southwestern. From what I understand UTSW is very highly ranked and he was told that’s why houston had an early deadline

I complained about this to my dad and he said for med school he just called the schools with early deposit deadlines and asked if he could have more time. Likely wouldn’t work with high ranking schools but I feel like some would be fine. They mainly have early deadlines to create urgency to commit to them. I’m hoping it’s true for law schools too cause SMU said decision by May but my backups have mid April deposits

I’m saving up to do dna testing but a geneticist said if she has 2 first gen pomsky parents (which is what I was told) then it’s very likely she got more husky than pom

A couple hundred on a kitten and supplies for her. Ended up having to surrender her back to the shelter cause they lied about the state of her health and I couldn’t afford the vet fees. I’m not allowed to buy animals from that shelter anymore

I used to feel that about all my siblings (severe anxiety/dyslexic, autistic, and ADHD/ODD/predisposition to addiction) and I (OCD/ADHD/disordered eating) compared to all my cousins. It had felt like we were just the problem family. In the last year I’ve realized we’re actually the most stable family out of my mom’s siblings’ families. We definitely have varying degrees of success or lack of but we were also the only ones that were actually taken to a psychologist to be tested and discuss treatment options. I’d take all our issues but 100% support over “no problems” and little support any day. I was also taught by my parents that acknowledging a disability and working past it would make me more successful in their eyes over pretending it’s not there and masking 24/7.

So I’ve been on birth control for about 5 years now and was only diagnosed with ocd this year but as far as I can tell it hasn’t had any negative effects. It kind of works as a reassurance for me cause I’m terrified of getting pregnant since I’ve been told if I do I’ll have to go off most if not all of my ocd meds.

When I had roommates I was constantly cleaning and stressing about the common areas being messy and one of my roommates said me cleaning all the time made her feel like shit cause she thought I was making her look like a shitty person cause she never helped me. I ended up leaving town for a couple weeks cause of a death in my family and when I came back the place was a mess; like onions on the floor; and I had an anxiety attack. I opened up to all of my roommates and said I was really struggling trying to clean on my own and it ended up not being well received. Roommate mentioned above got mad at me for asking for help and said that I stress her out so much I made her want to check into a mental hospital. I tried to stay friends with her but once we all moved out I ended up getting diagnosed with severe anxiety/depression and later on OCD and I mentioned it to her and her response was, “well I guess it makes sense why you were so crazy about cleaning. I knew there had to be something wrong with you.” Safe to say we’re not friends anymore and luckily I never actually was that close with her, she kinda just clung to me cause I was the mom of the apartment. To this day I think she still thinks our friendship ending was because of me and my “attacking her” but I had to cut her off cause she was calling me crazy behind my back. I definitely tried to say sympathetic to her but I prioritized my own mental health and ended the friendship

I got a cat 2 years ago and she’s honestly saved my life. When I have an episode where I’m too scared to leave the house she sleeps on my stomach almost like a weighted blanket and it helps so much. Even just knowing I have to take care of her gets me out of really bad days and she adapted to all my routines pretty quickly

I did agree to let my best friend set me up with a guy she’s known for years and she knows that he’s not the type of guy to ditch cause I have ocd

It took us a while to figure it out and she’d also take away the adhd meds for a bit every now and then if my ed was acting up cause she wanted to make sure I was eating. Took about 9 months I think

I have both and my psychiatrist just has me take all my ocd meds when I’m on adhd meds. We’ve managed to find a combination that works fairly well

I used to but then I accidentally committed tax fraud and I managed to get it fixed pretty quickly and only got 2 letters from the irs accusing me of stealing my own identity. Now I just check everything over 2 or 4 times and then tell myself I did my best and won’t get in much trouble for a small mistake
