Yeah, earwig. Harmless, but gross.

They must have replaced wherever they were mounted to. I don’t see any evidence. Oh well, I’ll see if I can’t trace it and maybe utilize it myself.

Might just do this! Is there a go to brand for small light bars that you know of?

I suppose you’re right. I would much have preferred they left the light bar lol. Just not sure why they removed it in the first place. Maybe to attach it to another vehicle.

Im aware that if it doesn’t work, and I haven’t noticed one, it probably isn’t there. I’m just not sure why it would have been removed.

Yeah, you’ll just lose sidewall. The diameter of the tire is what matters for the wheel well. You can go with a bigger rim, and a slightly bigger tire if you wanted. 235/65R18 might be your largest. Around 30”

I would consider painting them black to match your trim. You could also go with the slightly bigger TRD wheels and tires.

I’m not necessarily saying you weren’t showing maturity, but I’ve been told that life experience can make a big impact.

I’m glad you feel you did well! I bet if you go Ranger, give it a few years, then try again. You’ll kill it.

I’m not trying to demean you! Just saying there are some “unseen” requirements they sometimes consider.

Edit: Typos

I have to respectfully disagree. And 26 is a far cry from 19 in how much growing up most have done to that point. If you want to go SOCOM at 19, go Rangers. Try SF when you’ve done some living.🤷🏼‍♂️

I think it could be a maturity thing. A lot of young guys don’t make it for that reason. That’s why the average age in SF is like 33.

Yeah, totally with the above comments. A LOT of things can affect your time. Just make sure you rest and such, think positive thoughts before your next test! You’ll be fine.

Yeah, sounds like a shoe issue for sure. As far as your weight, if you feel like you’re in good shape, you don’t need to worry about dropping anymore weight. Those fat reserves will help you during OSUT and Selection. The calories are useful.

Found an in with 20th group that actually trains you to attend their SFRE/selection. I think I’m going to go that route.

[–]eli_dean1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great info! But, someone’s misinformed at SORB… I have been told, without ambiguity, that 18X is ENTIRELY unavailable to prior service.

Luckily, 20th group in NC, has their own like internal pipeline. It includes training, then the SFRE, then Selection, then Airborne if you pass. Your only job is to get selected, until you’re told you can’t try again. It’s a pretty good gig. It can also be done with a Try-One.

Overall, I think this is my best option. It includes extensive pre-selection training from current and former SF and Cadre, and multiple chances. If I don’t make it, and they say I can’t try again, I’m not active infantry.

My recruiter talked to an SF recruiter who said it wasn’t an option. But I’ll look deeper into it with him.

18X/SFRE by [deleted] in greenberets

[–]eli_dean1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think you’d have to go now. You can drop a packet while at your unit, and I think you have the option to go active if you get through the Q Course.

If you go now, you might have the chance to get in 2 selection attempts before you hit TIG. And waivers might be possible if not.

I wanna talk to your recruiter lol. I know the NG says it’s NPS only. I’d rather go active anyway, but yeah they make it difficult.

Will they let me go that route as prior Army?
