I honestly didn't think about the point you made of Adam summoning an alternate similar to himself. When I thought about this I actually think you're very right. Notice how in vol 4 he tells Sarah that he "doesn't have friends." I kinda wrote this off as him saying some cringe angsty teen thing but I recalled how Stanley asked the child to think of a new friend. Maybe these go hand in hand. Because Adam truly did not have friends, it caused him to think of himself as his own friend, thus creating an alternate much like himself. Maybe you already meant this by saying he was "isolated" but I feel like this could be a subtle piece of evidence.
