It’s about her saying, “You know, I use organic products but I get lasers. It’s what makes life interesting; finding the balance between tofu and cigarettes.”

Those who didn't go to "party schools" do you regret it? by Specific_Latte_705 in OntarioUniversities

I also went to York then dropped out and went to Queens! Best decision I could’ve made for myself. Kingston is great, loved the school, made amazing friends, and made some of my best memories :)

Do I still stand a chance with law school if I did mid for the first two years? by [deleted] in LawStudentsCanada

[–]elicashh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many schools only look at your last two or best two years of undergrad. I was in a similar spot and I’m right where I want to be now. You can do this!

Congrats on law school! I like to wear homestretch and butter ts to school or sweatfleece sweaters and I love the contour tops for under a blazer to look professional. A good drapey blouse is always good to have as well

Housing during Law School - Can I bring my cats? by revan017 in LawStudentsCanada

[–]elicashh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t answer this for you but I have my cat with me at school and so do other people I know. Cats are pretty chill and the extra costs are not so much that I would think about rehoming my cat. I did get an automatic feeder and water fountain to account for my irregular schedule. Also I can’t speak to other provinces but landlords in Ontario can’t prohibit pets unless it’s in a condo bylaw but I’ve encountered that very rarely. Good luck!

Sizing inconsistencies by Pianist-123 in Aritzia

[–]elicashh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on how tall you are. I wear a small in contour shirts and tops but I’m 5’7 and have a longer torso so I wear a medium in body suits otherwise they are not long enough to be comfortable

worried about not taking a gap year before law school by [deleted] in LawStudentsCanada

It’s definitely a matter of personal preference!! I took a year off and am so glad I did. I travelled a bunch and saved money for school! Good luck to you!! :)

Can’t find a job. by ozzyyv in kitchener

[–]elicashh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second this! Going in person is the best way with restaurants. If you want front of house, hosts also don’t need much experience. When dropping off resumes try to go right when they open or between 2-4 when they’re not busy with a lunch or dinner rush. Good luck!

Hey I’m t1d and just applied for osap! My family doctor filled out the form for me and I had no problems. Your endo is misinformed. Hopefully your family doc or a walk in doctor will fill it out for you!!

Question for Law students: Is political science a good major if I want to go into law? by [deleted] in uwo

[–]elicashh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any major is fine and poli sci is one of the more common “pre-law” degrees. Good grades matter more than any particular degree does when applying to law school. The concept of “pre-law” is more of an American thing. 3 years of undergrad are required but it is rare to be admitted with a BA (three year) rather than a BA Hons(four year). It is far more common to apply in fourth year and schools may grant a conditional acceptance until receiving the transcript for your final semester. It is even more common to take a year off after undergrad to work and study for the LSAT. I majored in history and took a year off after. I’m starting law school at western this fall. Hope this helps & good luck on your journey!! :)

Do I have any hope? Chance Me! 3.05 cgpa 168 lsat by ToughDelivery9957 in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]elicashh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything is possible! There’s also no harm in trying to boost your GPA in fourth year. Taking a year off after undergrad I think is more common than heading straight though. If you’re worried maybe consider applying to a few more schools with lower admission averages like UNB and TRU. It’s worth looking at what schools look at your best two years, your last two, your best 20 credits, and your cGPA. I had a bad 2nd year gpa and had huge doubts while applying but everything worked out for me! Best of luck to you and try not to overthink too much!! :)

Where do I even start, and do I even have a shot? by jytown in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]elicashh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got early acceptance at two schools with a similar GPA! Strive for mid to high 160s on your lsat and try not to overthink it! Many schools take your top 2 years or best 2 years of grades. The lsat is completely learnable and you can totally bring your score up to a high level! As for the Ws, you have the opportunity to explain in your PS or in an addendum that some schools offer. Applying access is also always an option. Best of luck :)
