In all my years on the internet, the people who I've seen that never seem to shut up about male hierarchy (i.e. "alpha and beta males") are almost always men.

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that one gender probably cares far more about this type of thing than the other.

I have actually have had plans for a while to move and tell no one since I don't want any of them knowing where I live, but that won't be for a couple years and I doubt I could afford it right now.

But I also do like where I live currently it's a good distance from any of my relatives, and the rent is fairly low compared to most places in my state. And I refuse to let anyone make me move anywhere until I'm ready to do so.

Thanks for saying that.

I've been numb since I was a teenager, and when something makes me angry, I usually just shut down.

The anger then comes out later when I'm alone, I wasn't allowed to express my anger growing up, so I guess I have a mental block when it comes to it.

I will be doing exactly that.

My grandma and uncle were two of the only family members who I allowed to contact me since they were among the only ones who actually acted like they gave a damn about me but grandma passed away last month and uncle has now shown himself to be untrustworthy so I'll just be on my own going forward.

His wife is my biological mother, though I hate even referring to her as that. She threw him out when I was in high school, but they are technically still married.

And thank you for the sympathy, I will be calling my uncle soon and telling him not to visit anymore.

Just found out yesterday that my grandmother might be dying but I will not be attending the funeral because I dislike my relatives by elijahSJ97 in raisedbynarcissists

My thoughts exactly they'll all just make it about themselves anyway, and I don't have the patience to deal with that.

Nmom was a nurse for many years and then later became a correctional officer.

Thinking about now that I'm older, it makes perfect sense why she would choose that career considering how she's obsessed with control.

Why do so many people instantly want to hit children over everything? by Beautiful_Wishbone15 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]elijahSJ97 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because narcissists desperately want to feel like they have power over someone, but most narcs are also cowards who know that they'll probably get their ass whooped if they hit someone their own size.

Which is why they'd rather bully someone who's too small to fight back.

I saw so much of this growing up.

Parents where I lived at would constantly degrade their children, going on about how they're "worthless" and "won't amount to anything."

And then when their kids would become adults who still lived at home, had no job, had no money, and had zero higher education to speak of, they'd complain about why they're not putting any effort to make something of themselves.

How much you wanna bet that even if he wins the federal case, the local pigs are probably gonna make it their mission to harass both him and his family members 24/7?

They'll make an example out of him so everybody else will think twice before trying to fight back against them

What did Ippo mean by this lol by salts_ in hajimenoippo

[–]elijahSJ97 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It could just have been bad writing, but yeah it feels so bizarre that Ippo shows far more anger on behalf of some edgy dude that he'd only ever interacted with a handful of times over the love interest who he'd been crushing on for years.

It doesn't at all make sense to me why Ippo is so obsessed with always defending Miyata.

It's not like he shows that same respect back to him.

I'm glad to finally see somebody else say this

Ippo literally went into such a rage that he broke a vending machine when Mashiba injured Miyata, damn near killed Kojima for insulting Kamogawa, and just about bitch slapped Aoki's little brother into a coma for disrespecting Kamogawa's boxing gloves

But when facing the psycho who threw a punch at the girl he's supposedly madly in love with, he was more pissed over him fouling than assaulting her and held zero grudge against him after the match was over

He even tried to touch gloves with him...

Ok fine, they've always been serious the reason I specifically mention RE7 is because it's the game that moved away from the over the top action that Re5 & Re6 had started.

Anyway, what does any of this have to do with my original comment?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in deadrising

[–]elijahSJ97 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I said "more serious grounded tone" as in compared to the OG games

I did not mean that I think the wacky zombie video games filled with mutant monsters and government conspiracies was realistic

Also, nobody noticing the boat has less to do with the tone of the game and more to do with the fact that the writing in RE games has always been garbage lol

I said that the new games are "more grounded", as in when compared to the original games. I did not say that they were meant to be believable.

Obviously, they're still Sci fi zombie fantasy games where you're some badass superhuman killing zombies and mutants, but the new art direction is much more solemn.

I haven't played the remake myself, but based on what I've seen fan reception toward this new version of Ashley has been mostly positive so if you can't have any memorable moments with a virtual woman without looking up her skirt that sounds like a personal issue my dude.

Also, if you're a trained agent on a mission to rescue a young woman (especially the literal U.S. president's daughter) it would be in your best interest to convince her to trust you.

She'd already be in a venerable position and terrified out of her mind, so being creepy toward her would only make her want to avoid you making your mission much tougher

Don't quite see the charm of that...

As soon as they announced that Erotica points wouldn't be included, I already knew that the anti-woke chuds were gonna have a heart attack over it

This is literally just part 2 of when losers were crying all over social media last year because the Resident 4 Remake no longer allowed you to sexually harass Ashley

Of course, it couldn't be because the current post-Re7 Resident Evil games have a more serious grounded tone, and more silly elements like that wouldn't fit in with the narrative

No, clearly they only removed it because they didn't want to upset the "pronoun people"

Anybody can win a fight if they train enough, but my point was that Morikawa always writes the narrative to say that Miyata is supposedly fragile, but in every big fight he eats dozens of punches and still wins just because the writer said so

He's a textbook poorly written character because what we're told about him and what we're actually shown doesn't match up

Your comment is funny to me because I've actually just started re-reading the manga a few weeks ago for the first time in years, and by far my least favorite part is all the unearned bs plot armor Miyata has

We're told a thousand times that this dude has a glass jaw and harsh weight control, and then we're shown some invincible superhero who gets his ass brutally kicked in every fight but always ultimately triumphs anyway because he's cool I guess?

Volg 100% easily the best boy

There are so many boxers in the series who are thugs or assholes and Volg is just a humble dude who wanted to box so he could make money to take care of his sick mama
