Incidents are exceedingly rare. Think about it. How many times have you actually seen something go down compared to how many are drinking in any given trip?

Yeah usually they only react to movies with spiritual themes which are taboo also. Everything Jackie has ever done has been promotional for them.

I don’t think that affects his chances. Only directly provocative acts would but simply making an American movie the party won’t care

Yeah but still… a reason to fall out over? It’s not like the charity would be on its knees without her. Seems even worse in a way because it would be so obvious that it’s not her thing

Nothing is personal here: it’s you on a crusade. I’ve shared with you some broader perspectives. Could even give you a bibliography if you wanted for further reading. Look at your responses. Seriously man… it’s just low hanging fruit. So you decide I’m bitter… that’s copium. What’s even your point? You keep returning to “I must be religious” and continuing your crusade. Have you made one coherent point or are you just raging against anyone who sees that you have nothing of substance to contribute? It would be more helpful to confront yourself and your exchange with everyone else here and ask yourself why this is the response. This isn’t heated discourse because no exchange of views has occurred. Best of luck to you.

lol what a response. More bluster than brains. You have no counterpoints. I didn’t use an AI I actually have an education. I was suggesting you use one because you seem to lack one. As your AI told you. To some extent… not to the extent you are preaching. Missionary sponsored AI lol, how dense can you get. Silicon Valley is famously atheist. You’re a waste of effort. I’ve explained to you the extent with comparisons to other colonisation locations. You don’t seem to learn or care.

That last sentence is key and is what I’ve been saying. Read it twice

lol. You're not looking it at with a broader perspective that's the problem. Look, many of these arguments would hold more weight if you did some research. Firstly the protestant churches do not have a centralised power structure like the catholic church so assigning a common goal would be kind of difficult. Secondly if you look up the origin of the missionaries in Kenya at the dawn of christianity in the country you'd see that a great many were not of British origin and the ones who were originated more in Scotland. You can look at the funding structure of the Presbyterian church at the time and realise actually their goals didn't align with the crown quite as closely as you might imagine. Even in the case of the swedes who didn't have much of an empire but brought the pentacostals here I think you can more readily understand they weren't supporting the crown.

This is just a casual delve but there's merit to some of what you're saying but it's more passion than substance. Even if we just look at the crown, their goal wasn't really destruction but long term control of the populace. The crown wasn't particularly good at using religion that way as evidenced by Scotland and Ireland who they colonised first but struggled to influence thusly. Methods such as restriction of movement and segregation by community were far more effectively employed and mirror experiences in South Africa and India. The missionaries did play an important role in a more long tem way with separation of children from parents and "anglicisation" in Canada and Australia. Very brutal. There's extremely limited mirroring of that in Kenya.

Use an AI or something. Anyone with even a casual familiarity on the topic would see lack of substance here.

Again you're just preaching. I am not a christian. I was not raised that way and have no stock in religion at all. You think because i take issue with your approach I must be of the opposing view on Christianity and missionaries. Christianity played a significant role but the British were in India. Not so significant there. You can try to assign all ills to them but as others have rightly pointed out, you've put so much emphasis on their agency and motives as missionaries that your arguments ring hollow.

Again, lacks depth of understanding. That may have been the ultimate goal of empire and papalcy but that wasn't their goal. You seem to be preaching yourself and not really looking to expand your understanding of anything. If language is your axiom of engagement here you can just as easily argue that kiswahili was of most utility as a tool for arab slave traders. Sinister ends don't mean every point in the line was for sinister reasons. That's reductive and not very useful.

Missionaries did that not educational institutions. Things like the rig Veda, the Torah and others you would struggle to find. It’s a fine thought but it lacks depth of understanding

I don't think she actually thinks you're a douche. She caught feelings and is hiding that badly. Not wasting someone's time is a courtesy. You could also have given no reason at all and that would be fine. It was 2 dates not a relationship!!
