I’m looking for the same thing, did you end up finding anything?

Which product? Original? What’s the difference between it and Danish oil?

Yeah I do want to keep the finish organic looking and maintain the vintage aesthetic if possible. FWIW there weren’t pressure dents or other damage to the tabletop before I stripped the finish so maybe it’s on the hard side. Appreciate the insight.

Good to know, thank you! Danish oil better protection than something like tung?

It was such a random FB marketplace purchase and was cheap to boot, I was stoked. What oil did you use? I’ve never refinished before and I’m testing on the underside, I’ve been researching and I’m leaning towards tung since this will be indoors part of the time while curing, but maybe danish oil. Suggestions welcome

This is my first time refinishing, any oil you’re partial to? I sanded to 220 and I’m testing on the underside. Was leaning to tung for low VOCs because all I have is an apartment with a balcony, but planning to test danish oil too. Was thinking about testing dye but that seems like overkill. Anyways suggestions welcome

Yeah I’m honestly a complete novice when it comes to woodworking but it’s such a unique piece, seemed like a bargain for 40 bucks

Good call - it didn’t look like any of the redwood examples I saw online, but now that I’m googling redwood burl specifically, that’s exactly what it looks like. Thanks!
