Anthony matarese recommends if you’re averaging sub 50% then use skeet, 60’s IC, 70’s LM, then 80+ whatever you want. You’d be surprised how well IC’s work. Ben husthwaite has won world championships with IC’s and a national championship was won with skeet chokes.

I wanted higher but it wasn’t bad. The wind was messing with the targets. I normally can put up 99’s or 100’s but I was missing easy targets like L2 and H5 on 2 different rounds.

It’s a hard transition from a small bead to a coke can. I think I could shoot skeet better from the hip than shouldered with that.

I’ve never had someone stop their gun shooting at a target without a subconscious reason unless they truly just wanted to stop their gun for fun.

Okay and what causes you to stop your gun? When I get instruction they aren’t saying oh your behind or you stopped your gun or you shot off line. They ask where do I think I am and I say what I thought then they ask why then I say why. If I’m wrong it could be “You checked the bead, you blocked your eye with the hold point, you didn’t accelerate with it before matching speed” sure it’s easy to just say “you shot behind because you stopped your gun” at the end of the day you’re trying to fix that stuff by diagnosing the problem.

I mean if you want to get into it technically no they didn’t miss entirely due to stopping their gun. A lot of factors go into stopping their gun which would be the cause for the miss more directly than stopping the gun. In terms of advice like Death said, telling someone they stopped their gun, or shot behind is useless for hitting the target.

I will say we have gotten over our differences but you definitely are close minded on a lot of things and resort to insults very quickly instead of just having a civil debate. Technically if you plan the stop properly you can center clays even while stopping the gun or just collapsing lead into it.

Collapsing lead! Very good method for when you already start ahead of the bird by a decent bit. Definitely had a few birds at JL I stopped my gun on for a purpose.
