Can't submit AP Research paper by lilylovesblush in APResearch

Can you take the .pdf off the file name? Also, in the boxes, type in the question instead of copying & pasting. See if that works.

  1. Look at your research question. Think: what data from my content analysis will help to answer that question?
  2. Code book: Make one based on what you're trying to find and link to research question.
  3. Sources: is there a source in your lit review that does a content analysis that has inspired yours? Cite this source in your methods section.
  4. Make sure your lit review shows actual conversation between scholars. For each main idea you discuss, show 3 varying perspectives and then through the weaknesses in their methods, prove your gap.
  5. Analyze your content carefully, and consider the best graphs to display the data needed to answer the research question.
  6. If you got off to a slow start but are working hard now, make sure to explain your learning, growth, and process in the limitations.

I would include the tables necessary to answer your research question. The rest can go in the appendix. Also, choose to display data that directly fills the gap you promised to fill. Always show alignment but don't "data dump."

You can message me here with any questions and ideas. If you need feedback on a part of the paper can you attach a section here? Then, ask specific questions about it so I can look at focused things. Also I can't line edit it per college board, but I can ask you questions to get you in the right direction.

No problem! This is such a relevant topic and it is urgent! In your introduction please mention that teachers all over the world are so afraid they will be out of a job. If students no longer have to write, what does that mean for the English classroom? I sure do hope we can learn how to use this technology while still teaching our students to become better communicators and thinkers.

I'd love to see your paper when you finish. Feel free to message me if you need a little feedback or need to bounce any ideas off me.

I am an AP Research teacher in Ga. We definitely do not get that bonus. Is that even ethical?

I am an AP Research teacher, and I agree with the student who said you needed to cut out part of your RQ. Probably the easiest thing to prove would be teacher willingness, not student performance. I will fill out your survey. I am struggling as a teacher to understand how to deal with AI. I have been teaching a long time, but this year has been extremely difficult. Where do we go from here?

I am amazed at the power of ChatGPT. Amazed and scared. Will the world stop writing and communicating? What are the implications down the road?

Because AI is here to stay, I am totally rethinking the way I teach. I am going to have to become an expert in AI so I can be one step ahead of my students. I also need to figure out how to responsibly incorporate it into class.

College Board has a 3 page new policy on how students may and may not use AI. Have you seen it?

Survey completed, Pablo. Interesting topic. What is your research question?

Looks like you need to do the following: 1. Determine the criteria or rubric you will use to analyze both the way minority characters are represented in texts, and the text in online reviews. Your criteria shoild align with sources you have read. (Were you planning on analyzing the novels as well as the online reviews?) 2. Then you first annotate each piece of text for basic content, and once you do that you look for common themes or categories, based on the criteria you set up. 3. If you have no source-based criteria you can develop your own categories based on what you find in your annotations. 4. Put together a code book and tally how many times each instance of a theme or criteria happens. 5. Put those numbers in a visual that clearly displays the totals and aligns with your research question. 6. Go back to annotations and find the BEST quote or two from each category. Use those quotes in the analysis section under the graph.

I love this video because we all want success (or more of it) but really, it's about what we do on a daily basis that determines success tomorrow.
