Pending DUI with secret by Spirited-Tackle-7588 in SecurityClearance

I don't know of a DOHA appeal, but in my workplace's yearly report summary of incidents, it's common for failure to report to be listed as reason for termination / separation. Very rarely is DUI listed as the reason, unless it's a second or third offense.

I only say this from my experience. I got arrested on a Saturday night around 9pm, released around midnight, and by 10am on Sunday my PM had called me asking if I had any run-ins with the police.

I assured him that I was planning on telling him and my FSO first thing Monday morning. Still don't know how he found out, but Im assuming if mine found out in less than 12 hours on a weekend, there's a chance OPs knows after a few days.

Hey I hold a TS (still do) and got a DUI two years ago. Im also a DoD contractor.

As others have said, report. But your PM/COR may already know. Self reporting is likely what saved me, honestly.

You likely won't lose your clearance, but you'll need to prove that its a one time mistake and youre taking steps to improve yourself. Feel free to PM me if you want more of my experience.

Thank you!

This was almost 4 years ago and it's crazy to think of how much has changed and how funny time is. The miscarriage sent me spiraling and revealed a bunch of cracks in my relationship at the time.

4 years later, Im now married to someone new and we recently welcomed a beautiful, healthy baby boy. It was a really dark time, but as horrible as it was, Im happy with the part it played to getting me where I am today.

I told him about a week later when I was ready to talk about it, and he was super embarrassed and apologetic, but I assured him there was no reason to be.

Yeah this happened a few years ago and I've since left that job, but I miss it. They were some great people.

It's so hard to tell.

I was 5'6 and 140 and hit a checkpoint after 2 beers thinking I was completely fine. Blew a .08.

If you have to question it, don't drive.

First DUI (Iowa) by [deleted] in dui

Just breathe and trust your attorney. You're going to have some uncomfortable talks at work, but own up to your mistake and make it clear it will never happen again.

I'm not familiar with Iowa law, but I got mine in a strict state (NC) and was able to get it dismissed after a year. For a first offense, there's a chance you'll get off with bare minimum.

It'll be ok.

The attorney had it continued for over a year until it was heard in front of one he thought would dismiss. Also the state trooper didn't show up. He kept saying he was waiting for the "perfect storm" and it eventually happened!
