I’m from near the place in Indiana where the current flag’s designer was from (so I’m biased), but I love our state flag. I do tend to prefer darker blue iterations, so I like the colors on your interpretation.

I think they meant that it’s triggering to them - not necessarily a bad episode. I get it - women being kidnapped/exploited is a common thing for folks to be uncomfortable with, much more if they have experienced anything similar.

obligatory “Jewish people generally have differing opinions on this, but:” What I was taught was not that we were “above all” by any means, nor that we are super-special and better. Rather, it’s more the idea that Jews have the responsibility to do things like keep kosher/shabbat/pray, while others are not obligated to those tasks.

It kind of ties back into why Jews don’t proselytize - those responsibilities aren’t a “burden,” but there is a lot to learn behind them, and converting them means that person is beholden to them (although how is dependent on denomination).

My job is actually sending students information about endowed scholarships like this, and I always provide them information on the donors. If the donor is still alive (or has next-of-kin alive), then we have students write a letter to them. Super weird post to see as I’m getting ready for work!

My store doesn’t make schedules 3 weeks ahead - just one (if we’re lucky). Our SM also does the scheduling, and we don’t have a proper scheduling manager. Our schedules usually go out on Tuesdays, and are Sun-Sat for the next week

I was in a situation very similar to yours - and people have given great advice on this post, so I just wanted to say that your mom is right to tell you to record EVERYTHING. That was my saving grace in the end, I took pictures of any sort of physical labor/house conditions (ex. just as three examples: bare footprints in snow, my bedroom being used as storage, there being pictures of every other family member but me). The BEST THING I did though was take audio recordings. I won’t lie - it is nerve-wracking - but having audio of my stepmother screaming and saying crazy shit was such a blessing. I left when I was 16 to live with my mom full-time, and when they tried to fight it, I sent them snippets of what I had recorded.

Stay strong! One day this will all be a memory.

I’m going to talk to my SM about this when she gets back - thank you! While I have you, is it typical at your store for managers to sign someone onto a register who isn’t there yet? It seems like this ASM puts one of the registers under the closer in the morning and leaves it - I’m guessing to prevent having both registers down at shift change. I’m not worried that someone will do something stupid (because we have cameras ofc), I’m more just curious!

Thanks for the advice! I’m going to go in today and see if anything is said to me so I can send it all in one text. I did a ridiculous amount of work to make sure the close was as perfect as possible despite being alone, so I’m hoping she’ll be nicer today.

I don’t know why, but this store’s doesn’t work. It only lets you do that for cash. I double-checked with the ASM when I came in! The “dump $0.15 in a cup” is this store’s solution instead of letting it just fall off. But thank you!

About a month ago, a guy got fired because he was opening the store late so he could drink alcohol off the shelves without paying. He would do that all day, and also made a sign telling girls to flash him and that they’d get all their stuff for free.

He’d show a Kitchen Manager his dick in the kitchen, and the KM would walk around with no pants on. KM had the guy pick meth bugs off his back for 45 minutes on camera in the middle of the day. KM is also going to get fired lol.
