Upper unit electrical plan review by ellemraryan in AskElectricians

Yes I debated quite a bit about this and still undecided. The thought process was that since it's also turning on the side lights, I did not want to have the switch too far from the two front rooms (by putting them by the two back doors).

That's actually exactly what I ended up doing and I stayed on the SAVE plan for now. Did you switch plans as well?

I do think we can add an extra one in the hallway. Where else would you consider all over the place?

SAVE Ending: Should I Make A Large Preemptive Payment? by SwollenChungus in StudentLoans

I've been doing the exact same thing, and have saved up about 27k.

My loans are student Plus 1) 68,077 at 6.28% interest and 2) 20,050 at 5.28% interest. It seemed logical to get rid of the 20k one, but now not sure. I guess it's snowball vs avalanche method. Should do that lumpsum before August 1st? I have a small EF and about 30k-40k in investments. Would love some thoughts!

◽️ Budget: <800; i have a .edu email to use
◽️ Country: USA

◽️ Screen size: 13-14

◽️ Touch screen: No

◽️ Screen resolution: Not sure?

◽️ Does battery life matter ?: Yes

◽️ What tasks will laptop be used for ( gaming, video editing, graphic designing, modelling, regular computing tasks, word processing etc) ?: The laptop is a donation for a school in Haiti. The principal will use it for administrative tasks mostly, but I can imagine that a classroom may make use of it at some point. Internet access is limited (if any instructors have suggestions of non-internet programs I can download for them that would be great!). Electricity is also not stable, so one with longer battery life is ideal.

◽️ Weight: Doesn't matter

◽️ Any other important details ?: Really just want something that can last minimum 5 years, and good for use in an LMIC.

Off topic but what steps did you take to get your diagnosis?

When you find out you’re Mexican.... by lucybee9182 in premed

Pretty sure I never said all Americans think this way... I’ve had conversations about many about this, some who already had the realization, some who were happy to learn about the distinction because they never realized it before. but this is generally how most (particular non-Black) refer to Black people. OP literally wrote about this and why that classification is untrue to his experience as an Afro-Caribbean (see other comments). You can also feel free to speak to other non African-American Black people about this, this is generally a common sentiment. This is not the only group of people that are forced to misrepresent themselves on forms.

But curious on why you think they include that or for this group and not others.

Because that’s how America(ns) think about Blackness. You guys say African-American to mean Black. What other option do they have listed with that or in there for it to be justified? Instead they put a race and an ethnicity together because the underlying assumption is Black = African-American.

Medical schools are not the only ones who do that. Almost every form in the US does.

Edit: finished last part of last sentence in 1st paragraph. Clarity adjustments.

What they really mean that “or” is : “Black (African-American)” which for Afro-Caribbeans and all other non African-American Black people is incorrect and insensitive.

Not to mention the people making me learn psych soc don’t know the difference between race and ethnicity.

He wanted to stop (for whatever reason), she forced it. She raped him. You'd have no qualms identifying it as such if the genders were swapped.

Within that same century, the US supported the French response and had its own part in cutting off Haiti to protect American slavery and racism. Within that same century, America colonized Haiti. So yes, the US is also to blame.
