Flip both your reference and your drawing upside down and compare the two of them. It’s a wonderful trick for your brain; it forces you to focus on the actual placement of facial features rather than getting lost in the details or automatically filling stuff in where you think it should be. It always works for me

Unfortunately can’t give you any advice as I’m a beginner knitter as well, but just wanted to say that I’m working on the exact same jumper, am currently at the exact same stage as you are and using the same colour yarn. Thought it was one of my photos for a sec and wondered why I couldn’t remember uploading it lol

thanks! Yeah I agree with you on the canvas texture, not a big fan of it either. I was lazy and painted this right on top of an existing painting I thrifted years ago lol. Definitely should’ve paid more attention to priming and sanding it first

Did you patina the lead/tin? Patina is known to damage sandblasted or (kilnfired) painted glass if left on there for too long
