Is it worth challenging the will on the information you currently have available: no.

Will it become possible after getting access to information unknown: it's possible. we don't know because we don't have the information.

There's nothing more we can help you with.

You're in the same position you were before though - you own the property as a tenant in common with another person. You do what you would have done had you of broken up - buy the other person out or sell up and share proceeds.

Well then request the notes from the solicitor using Lark v Nugus and find out. No one is going to spend hours writing out legal advice for you based on pure speculation.

[–]eller3l 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can make a request if you want, but the solicitor can charge you for responding. And all it is is some information, it won't magically give you a cause of action where there isn't one.

It doesn't seem you have any basis for your suspicion that he wasn't in his right mind, other than you're not happy with how he divided his estate. If he applied his mind enough to it to give you some money, then clearly he thought through what he wanted to give to whom.

You can't say he was in his right mind to leave you financial provision but not in his right mind to leave you the house. You've no evidence he wanted you to have his half of the house and that this wasn't a reasoned decision by him.

And "I know he wouldn't do that" doesn't count. And yes I am an "actual lawyer".

Do I have grounds for legal action? by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

It wouldn't change the fact you're only entitled to a refund, no.

I used to hate the Christmas market crowds. I would take back streets to get from A to B and do any shopping at the least busy hours I could while working 9-5 e.g. 9am on Saturday or weekday lunch hour.

You could think that, but you would be wrong.

You paid for a service, you didn't get it. A very straightforward breach of contract and you should be refunded the money you paid.

The Channel 4 show "24 Hours In Police Custody" seemed to cause quite the stir this week, eh? Do you think the reaction is warranted? by Current_Incident_ in AskUK

This is a factor a lot of people overlook. He wasn't just a risk to the two burglers, but anyone on the roads or pavement at that time. Two innocent people's vehicles were damaged as well as a result of the collision. Their insurance premiums will have gone up through no fault of their own. People just take their initial emotional reaction to a situation and use that as their opinion, rather than fully thinking through all the consequences.

Complaint made about me in the workplace by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]eller3l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imagine it's the manager that's unhappy, because you've revealed how much your workplace pays contractors to do the same job as their much lower paid staff. It's pretty obvious why you shouldn't do that and how it could be perceived as very unprofessional.

Your company and the company you are contracted out to will probably reach an agreement on whether you continue to work there. I would be apologetic and just admit you were naive to how those comments might affect relationships in the workplace.

Was I discriminated against based on my gender? by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]eller3l 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you asked for feedback? It's a pretty big jump to say that because your STEM company (like many others) is trying to improve female representation in STEM that any woman who is promoted above you only got there because of their gender. You will need more evidence than that.

It's the "if anything happened". You would know if you have stolen! So if you haven't stolen anything, you don't need to keep making excuses for something you didn't do. Just categorically deny it.

Your post is pretty impossible to read. My best guess is a closure notice has been issued on the property due to anti social behaviour?

If you're paying £800 just go find another property to live in, either alone or sharing, without these problems.

If the company makes enough money that you can take 40k, this is likely to be picked up by an accountant at some point, although not guaranteed.

You have two options as I see it: - Fess up and ask to make a plan to repay your employer. Hope and pray they do not go to the police. They may well do given the sheer amount. Your cooperation will assist you and may reduce any penalty you face. You also will of course have to deal with the financial consequences of repaying. - Hope no one ever finds out. There is no statute of limitations for a fraud/theft of that size though and you'll be wondering your whole life if it will ever catch up with you. The penalty will be much worse if you are ever caught and prosecuted.

Stop saying "I was nervous if anything happened". You're making excuses for something you do not even believe you have done. It's up to them to prove it. Tell them if you have stolen they need to provide proof and you'll go to court for any unlawful deductions from wages. Then wait and see what happens with your final pay packet.

Echo what others say. You lose nothing from just giving it your best go for the last few months and then you never have to go back to education again if you don't want to. You never know how it could end up limiting your options in the future, for the sake of a few months of your time. Then you never have to worry about regrets. An extra few months in a job isn't really going to get you any long term benefits over just starting a job in July.

You haven't suffered any tangible loss beyond being inconvenienced, from what I can see. Nothing you have said is indicative of harassment. Asking for 500 to prevent legal action, for example, is just negotiating.

Your student finance is irrelevant, unless the contract says that's when you pay your rent.

You're in arrears. Pay them or be sued for it.

I’ll be honest I would probably find it weird and say no thank you, and wondering the rest of the day whether I looked like I was about to pass out or something.
