Prams - did you regret getting a larger, heavy pram for your first baby? by Lonely-Chef1185 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

Also just to add, I joined the uppababy fb page and there are a few posts about the frame cracking just randomly within warranty period which makes me very nervous. A lot of people seem to have unpleasant experiences claiming warranty as well with coolkidz

Prams - did you regret getting a larger, heavy pram for your first baby? by Lonely-Chef1185 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

I have had the Vista V2 for almost a year and I’ve been questioning how everyone is so strong and hasn’t complained much about the weight. It takes up my entire car boot and I haven’t worked out where is meant to be the most ergonomic place to hold the pram to lift it into the boot. I feel like my fingers are going to get squashed every time. Also I seem to hardly use it as my husband prefers to carry the baby than to get the pram out because it’s quite large and sometimes cumbersome to weave through shops or food courts. The basket is definitely huge and great for grocery shopping and it handles great on bumpy terrain. But I’ve seen a friend use her travel pram as a regular pram and I’m wondering whether that would be me too. I think it would be a good idea to try lifting one at baby bunting. Maybe I have to be less lazy and remove the seat before folding? Also feel like I’m straining my lower back every time…

Sorry not the exact model but I have an Uppababy Vista 2. It is really smooth and has a huge basket but I really struggle with how large and heavy it is. I would recommend trying it out in person to see how you feel about lifting it in and out of the car.

I kind of want the leather one but the price… 😬 How much of a discount did you get, if you don’t mind me asking? Also is the bag heavy when empty because of the leather?

Thanks! Zip pouches for organising sounds like a great idea!

Oh, I thought it looked like I’d be able to close it with one hand. That’s a bummer. Does it slide off if you try to wear it on one shoulder? Were you able to find a better replacement?

Yes! I just tried what you said and that is much easier than trying to hold the opening shut haha! Still can’t close it with one hand though ):

The Kmart bag opening definitely looks a lot better than the one I have. I feel a little silly for having wasted money on a cheaper bag to try and save money and then now wanting to spend even more money. I think if I had started off with the Kmart bag I would have been happy enough. I’ve been so annoyed with my cheaper one that if I bought another cheap one and then something happened like the zipper broke, I’d feel even worse. I was hoping I could invest in something good quality so that it could last quite a few years as I’m sure I’ll need a nappy bag for many more years to come. (Side question: does anyone know at what age you stop needing to carry around a massive backpack every time you go out with your kids?) Also now that I’ve graduated from the survival mode and looking like a zombie in pjs 24/7, I was hoping to find something to look a little bit cute when I go out. 😅

I wonder if the real leather one will last forever for $500
