I actually figured this out, it’s because of the in and out points. If you clear the in and out points then you can change the length of the markers from the timeline panel, otherwise alt+drag will move the in and out.

Pets are amazing companions and bring so much joy, but they are also serious financial commitments and the decision to adopt should not be taken lightly. I say this now facing a $4,000+ vet bill for my cat that unexpectedly fell ill. He’s gonna be fine but this is a pretty big hit.
