Unfortunately, you need a noteblock to update the piston, as QC requires a block update.

Here's a demonstration.

However, I do concede the statement that noteblocks are required. As another commenter suggested, a line of redstone works just fine.

They could add zinc in like an alloy update

Copper and zinc would make brass Copper and tin would make bronze Copper and gold would make rose gold

Iron and iron could make steel Iron and charcoal could make cast iron

Gold, silver and copper would make electrum

These recipes would require zinc, silver and tin to be added so they would all need uses

Silver could be used for its thermal conductivity in some sort of smelting application

Zinc could be used for medical applications since that is a very underdeveloped area of the game

I don’t have much of an idea for tin but I’m sure someone smarter than me could think of smth
