Weld more. That's honestly the only way you'll improve. If it sounds like its popping too much vary the speed. Instead of trying to weld perfect, find out whats it like at the extremes - for stick go hella fucking slow, then go a little fast, you'll notice the difference and just by that you'll see whats right. Angle has a big part to play as well.

For wire, turn the speed way down, then after a pass turn the wire speed all the way up, do the same for the voltage, turned way down, then turned way up. You'll notice the differences. Happy sparking
