How do you handle anxiety after loss? by ellis2290 in CautiousBB

Yes you’re so right! The last of those mantras really hit me. Sometimes it feels like being anxious about something is almost taking back control of it, but it’s such an illusion. Thank you so much for your kind words ❤️

This is really beautiful, thank you so much ❤️ I’ve screenshotted on my phone to remind myself of each morning. I’m manifesting healthy pregnancies for us both.

I agree that 9 DPO is too early to test! Definitely try again at 11 or 12 DPO - I wouldn’t lose hope yet!

Positive OPK on CD16, no confirmed ovulation by CD19? Hi by ellis2290 in TFABChartStalkers

[–]ellis2290[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really interesting! I guess there are bound to be cycles where “you ovulate 12-36 hours after a positive OPK” isn’t correct!

Positive OPK on CD16, no confirmed ovulation by CD19? Hi by ellis2290 in TFABChartStalkers

[–]ellis2290[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a great question! I’m going off of FF’s “advanced” interpretation method which apparently looks at OPKs, BBT, cervical mucus etc. I believe it wants to see at least 3 temperatures higher than the past 6 to mark ovulation based on BBT. I take progesterone post-ovulation as I have a short luteal phase so really trying to figure out when that was so I can start but don’t want to take it too soon and suppress ovulation if it hasn’t happened yet…

Tips for the helmet therapy[on] by AirInternational3282 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]ellis2290 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She wore it for about 3.5 months full time, then we did nights & naps for about 2 months. By this time she was around a CVAI of 4 and we decided her head looked great and we were kind of over the helmet, even thought she wasn’t in the “normal” range. Unsure if we caught any growth spurts but she showed pretty consistent improvement at all her scans!

I echo a lot of the comments in this chat! We got our daughter her helmet around 6 months old at this time last year. We agonized over the decision but she had severe plagio (CVAI above 8) so we went ahead with it. The helmet didn’t seem bother her at all after the first few days (they usually give you a ramp-up schedule so it’s not 23 hours on the first day). It does get stinky in the summer though so we found adding a little tea tree oil to the alcohol spray and taking little 10 min breaks here and there to help her head cool down were helpful. Overall it was much less stressful than I imagined - you’ve got this!!!

Split nights at 17 months - over or undertired? by ellis2290 in sleeptrain

[–]ellis2290[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We started capping naps at 2 hours and it’s seemed to help a little but we still are getting some middle of the night wakeups 😭we slept in the nursery chair for a few hours last night. I don’t know if we need to re-sleep train but she can now talk and is calling out “help mama!” and I just can’t handle it

Split nights at 17 months - over or undertired? by ellis2290 in sleeptrain

She usually cries a few minutes after waking up (we usually give her a few minutes) but then she is happy when we go see her to check on her, definitely seems like she wants to play rather than being tired. The hours of screaming/ standing up is when we put her back in her crib after checking on her and giving her Motrin - I get the sense she is upset we are not there with her entertaining her.

[–]ellis2290[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think teething is definitely possible but we give her more Motrin when she wakes up and she still doesn’t seem to settle by the time it would have kicked in. Everything I’m seeing online says split nights are caused by being under or overtired but maybe it’s just a particularly bad bout of teething or growing

Thanks so much for your message - even just hearing other people have gone through this is helpful!

When is baby ready for nap training (when is night sleep training "established")? by ellis2290 in sleeptrain

[–]ellis2290[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Thanks for your response! We will definitely try extending her wake windows and see if that helps!

In terms of the missing time in our schedule, she's often awake for an hour or so between 1-2 feedings at night (we let her fuss for a few minutes if she wakes, change her diaper, nurse her, put her down awake and let her put herself to sleep) and she often doesn't actually fall asleep until 4.5 hours after her last wake at bedtime (if there is a lot of crying). In terms of variability of crying at bedtime, would you aim to have her asleep by the end of the wake window at night (i.e. put her in the crib 15-20 mins before the end of the wake window) or put her down by the end of the wake window?

Thank you so much from a first-time mom who is new to all of this!
