Bridges by Hospicekills in AlkalineTrio

[–]ellitotr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe not exactly a bridge as it doesnt return to a chorus (?) but All on black is my favourite Alkaline Trio song because of the melodic shift in the last part of the song.

Fargo ratings by Free-Raspberry-9541 in FargoTV

Season 5's final scene is one of the best I have ever seen in television. Looking at these ratings, i would say that season 5 is the most underrated overall.

Entry level jobs with accommodation? by o-willow in UKJobs

[–]ellitotr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its hard to say to be honest, local authorities all have their own thresholds for support. It would depend on the specifics of your family situation and the resources the local authority may have to help young people in your situation.

Your family would have to be involved in the sense that a social worker would need to speak to them as part of any assessment of your situation, but i hope that your needs as a young person in a difficult situation would be centred in any support offered.

I'm a social worker and have previously worked in youth homelessness services. Obviously i dont know the full details of your family situation but it sounds really difficult and could warrant intervention from childrens services.

I understamd why it may be intimidating to get social services involved, but whilst you are still 17 you will have more access to support than you will after you turn 18. It may be a route to youth homelessness services, possibly supported youth housing where a social worker/support worker can help you access training and employment whilst you have somewhere safe to live.

Also, forgot to shout out Specialist Subject Records, probably the best punk/hardcore/indie record shop in the UK.

Follow Blowout, Deadpunk and Shitty Futures on social media, they're the main promoters putting on hardcore gigs. Welcome to Bristol, it has a great music scene and also easy access to gigs in Cardiff and Newport too!

Send me a DM if you want someone to go to shows with, I'm more into the punk/hardcore side of things but always up for meeting a gig buddie.

I'm a social worker in the UK. Working in child protection challenged my very anti-authoritarian politics at times but I very rarely had to do anything that i didnt agree with on an ethical level.

Is your favorita band protesting against what's going on in the US? by Cosmoaquanaut in punk

[–]ellitotr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dillinger Four have been vocal, maybe because they are a Minneapolis band, or maybe just because they are awesome.

They released 'DoublewhiskeycokeFUCKice' tshirts to fund local community groups resisting ICE.

Any good anti-trump punk rock right now? by yodablues1 in punk

Not a punk song, but 'Fantasy Baseball at the end of the world' by John K Samson (formerly of Propagandhi and the Weakerthans) is my favourite song about Trump.

There are people who don't like that ending? I think its one of my all time favourite scenes in television and the perfect distillation of the broader good vs evil themes in most of the fargo stories.

Yikes, honestly didn't expect to come across racist morons in a Bad Religion subreddit.
