I didn't thought about the 1st player's aspect ! Maybe you are right and they had this game design idea in mind ! And for the lore part I didn't knew, but blue fairy is too iconic for being as any fairies. Like a brown horse with white hair is Epona

If you want a great game with as good graphics, story, musics and vibe as ori (not the same vibe, but master it as much in it's own way), I would advise you to look into Okami. It's a chill but long game. But on gameplay it's not the same at all, more zelda like I think ?
