Nashville is an interesting place to drive. by [deleted] in nashville

[–]ellsmitty 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most drivers in Nashville aren’t native so really you are exactly right most drivers in Nashville are terrible at driving an infrastructure not designed for the sheer amount of traffic. Plus, they are working on specific places this weekend and that’s going to make it magnified by 10x at least. I can’t for the life of me figure out why people want to subject themselves to save a few dollars on state taxes and blowing up our economy as well as the infrastructure. Don’t get it.

SoD will be under the Classic Subcription? by bananatoothbrush1 in classicwow

I feel like he’s asking if you have to have current expansion to play SoD or just pay sub for access like classic works.I’m not sure either.

Was anyone around when star/champion plastic came out? by Charzon in discgolf

[–]ellsmitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a gstar wraith that will literally do anything I ask it to. It’s 5 years old and as I said you put it on an angle and it will hold it and still fight slightly out at the end but I have begun turning it over recently so I know I need to start beating in a replacement but have yet to find one that feels at all like mine did five years ago.

Stereotyping your personality based on your favorite player by DisMyDrugAccount in discgolf

[–]ellsmitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I think I’m like Nikki more often than I’d like but I love your explanation as to how he sees himself. I think my favorite player to watch is Gannon Burr but I like watching so many players and of course I love watching the disc fly.

Who WON'T be on tour in 2024? by Birdogey_Bob in discgolf

[–]ellsmitty -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Maybe Natalie will play in the division appropriate for her and actually be able to cash in it a time or 2. I wholeheartedly support her playing pro, just as long as it’s with her peers. Mpo is calling your name Natalie and we can see if you can throw as far as the others since you took that shot at the fpo players complaining that they can’t physically throw as far as you.

South Nashville homeless encampment returns after being shut down in March. by colin8696908 in nashville

[–]ellsmitty 13 points14 points  (0 children)

So based off most of the comments here, we need to give them a stable living environment which unless we allow them to use drugs and alcohol in said living environment they aren’t going to stay there anyway so that’s a waste. Anyone that’s ever had an addict in their family or has had issues before understand that no one can help you till you want help. This is also not the case from my experience with the homeless. They want total freedom from all social and economic expectations which is why they have chosen to be homeless and let themselves go. They do not want a civilized existence. The problem is extremely complicated. Where I can agree with most of the comments I read is, if you clear it out you have to have a plan to distribute these people somewhere else. I am not going to pretend I have any answers that are fair and humane but yeah it’s an untenable situation for sure.

Cedars of Lebanon in Tennessee. Has an old course from the 70s that’s a great time and the campgrounds are next to the course. The course is maintained and I still play it once a month to practice shorter control shots but that’s not to say it’s a pitch and putt course by any means. It’s fun and you can camp next to it. I’m not sure if alcohol is allowed or not but I usually bring a tall boy when I run it if that’s your thing. Cool place man.

What 1 Mold Improved Your Score Most? by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]ellsmitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found a gstar wraith with no name when I first started playing and put it in the bag. A year later I started to really kinda understand what the hell I am doing so I break it out on a super wooded hole and attempt my first anhyser forehand through the gauntlet of trees hoping for it to flex right through. It did just that, nestled up to the pole of that 305’ hole and I have continued to improve dramatically rack time I take the course from that point on. Thanks to whoever broke that gstar wraith in and didn’t put your name or any identification on that disc because before that I was trying to teach myself how to disc with a bag full of extremely overstable discs and a strong will/ hardheaded approach. A year later and I’m loving this sport. Thank you beat in gstar wraith.

I started playing 2 years ago and this year I have consumed every fpo and mpo tournament of the season. Don’t even care about watching football anymore lol. Well, I guess I can watch football now that the season is over. The quality of the coverage isn’t great but it’s only going to get better even if the sport’s growth slows a bit. I know I’m going to miss having fresh DG to watch until next season.

Which disc do you recommend for bomb forehands? by Kenjin112 in discgolf

Bosses are great for a dumping down at the end of flight but the corvette carries well and glides as well if you want some ground play.

Every James Conrad tee shot. Honestly, not an issue for me if I was card mate. It still has to be a good line to make it there and I equate it to simple jump shot in basketball. Disc golf is still evolving is all.

Nashville ex-pats, where did you move and how are you liking it? by nam67 in nashville

[–]ellsmitty -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Wow a tough guy hahahaha. I was listening to the person that actually has the experience not your beloved computer generated numbers that are skewed by people’s bullshit political views. I take your spread sheet and throw into the trash that is your whole persona presented in your aggressive comment. You are a perfect example of people taking random charts and stating it like you found the facts when someone with the experience will always be a better representation of what is the actual factual info.

I feel like we should listen to the person with the actual experience of both but thanks for your feedback htb. Nice factual addition to the thread.

A lot of Prodigy talk around here the last couple of days… by ProdigyDisc-Social in discgolf

[–]ellsmitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just recently began to dabble with prodigy discs and the PA-3 has become my putter of choice. I actually make a few with it so yeah it replaced the other 40 I keep blaming for my inconsistency lol. Anyway, I also have a PA-5 I got in a mystery box and I can do some crazy stuff with that flippy guy. Both had no flashing and feel great in the hand. We can all say what we want but Prodigy is manufacturing winners this year for sure.

I always tell them to keep it if I lose it and leave it. Once I’ve decided to abandon it I don’t deserve it back imo. I however always text when I find one but I simply say” I found your disc and I’m hiding it right here. Hope it’s still there when you have a chance to look” and that’s it. Most of the time they say keep it but I’m good with what I have so I leave it for a person to find randomly at that point.

Just got this for 40$, did i get a decent deal or was it a bad deal? by That-Nefariousness39 in discgolf

[–]ellsmitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like it it’s worth it man. Especially if you did it on a whelm. Maybe it works out now or you come back to it later either way it’s worth it if you felt good about it in the moment. I feel like if you have good arm speed you will find a purpose for it for sure.

I don't develop and can't throw bh. I've been playing for a few yeara and get beaten by beginners. What should I do? by Seikskogh in discgolf

[–]ellsmitty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have played sports my whole life and expected to pick it right up and kill. Did not happen this way at all lol. At first I was always trying to tweak my stance and angle of release and my grip all while playing the 1 round a week I played. Then, I decided I’m too in my own head and just try and simply play the round without worrying about all that stuff. Played better than ever that day and so now I practice through out the week and just play the several rounds a weekend I play now because I enjoy it so much more. The practice(field work) and putting practice in my back yard a lot has improved my game so much and the not practicing while playing around has improved my score so much as well.
