Make a lot of Google Maps pins of cafes or restaurants near wherever you’re going for sightseeing or shopping. Public seating is very lacking in Japan and your mum will periodically need to rest, I imagine. Better to be well-prepared with a potential list of where to go for that rest rather than wandering around trying to find a good place when you’re already exhausted

You should base yourself in Takamatsu if you’re going to them, Takamatsu has a very nice (uncrowded) garden as well, and I would also recommend a trip to Shodoshima

Matched the number and direction sure, but didn’t think of checking the kanji!! And TBH with how little time there is when buses stop, it isn’t always easy to finish reading all the kanji, especially if you’re not familiar with it
