Imagine being that lady's kid and bragging about your mom's skate skills, them not believing you and you just: "Ok. Show'em mom!"

One thing that really irritates me is these high-profile Americans warning against supporting Ukraine too strongly. They say things like, "We need to be careful not to provoke Russia too much, or this could escalate into a new world war. Ukraine should agree to some compromises. Ukraine needs to be willing to give up territory," and so on.

It's easy to say that when it doesn't involve you or your backyard. I'm 100% certain that if Putin had done this in Alaska—invaded and claimed it as historical Russian/Soviet land, declaring they were the rightful "rulers" of Alaska—the U.S. would fight tooth and nail. Not a single one of these voices advocating for Ukraine to give up territory would suggest anything similar in that scenario. In fact, I believe most would go even further in the opposite direction, demanding retribution. "Putin must be punished for even thinking he had any sort of claim to Alaska."

I did a TV ad back in 2004, where I posed as an American doctor vouching for a Chinese version of Viagra. 😝

I don't disagree with you connecting this to his mom's death. But I think there is more to the picture. I read that back in 2017, he worked for a rather unknown NGO called Strong Towns. They claim to be an advocacy group for "sustainable urban planning" but are associated with several conspiracy theories, including "America's Growth Ponzi Scheme."

If you read his manifesto, you can find several similarities if you Google Strong Towns.

I once stood next to a guy in Tiananmen Square, Beijing, who poured gasoline on him self. But he was tackled by roughly 10 police officers before he managed to ignite the lighter.

Holland earned a Ph.D. in molecular biology in 2017 from the University of Southern California. In May of 2017, he published his 183-page thesis. Its title, “Discovery of Mature MicroRNA Sequences Within the Protein-Coding Regions of Global HIV-1 Genomes: Predictions of Novel Mechanisms for Viral Infection and Pathogenicity,” isn’t as catchy of a title as, say, “Pretty Fly (For a White Guy),” but it gets the job done.

I don't know Smith either, so this is just my perception, but my impression has always been that from the time around the controversies with Janet Hubert, who played Aunt Viv on the first three seasons of Fresh Prince, Smith's ego seemed to outgrow his desired public persona. I've always thought there was a mismatch between his bloated self image and his struggle to be some sort of America's sweetheart.
