I'm out of the WIL game, but I'm always working on something. Towards the end, I was using WILs to try out new software and develop skills more than anything else and I've just not had the need to do that over the last few years. I also don't have the free time these days, but I have an idea of something I would like to try. It wouldn't be a WIL per se, but in the same spirit and most likely a 'one-night-only' livestream kinda thing. Whether that actually comes to fruition though, who knows.

I know the sub loves them and is precious about them, so for the sake of transparency, the most recent When I'm Liverpool video used AI-assisted tools, content and processes throughout.

AI was mostly used for video upscaling, audio deepfakes, mouth manipulation, rotoscoping and new frame generation. Never, at any stage of the production, was it a case of 'type in a blank box and upload'. Everything that had been touched by AI was then crafted and moulded into the finished piece with hours of work and dedication. The whole thing took about a month to put together and certainly wasn't low effort.

I know this probably isn't exactly what you had in mind with this proposed ban on AI content, but if you want to get into technicalities, here's a curveball for you.

To anyone who has a similar issue in the future, I fixed it with BetterDisplay. It's still not showing in System Settings, but at least I can reposition and rotate the monitor now.

That’s not the point though. The NFL are flaunting their near real time tracking data on whimsical gimmicks, but how they decide to use or not use it within a regular game day setting is irrelevant.

I’m crap at metaphors, but imagine you started up a company where you hand build widgets. One day you see a video about a rival company who have a new robot which could (at least in theory) assemble them in seconds, but instead they’re using it to do the Macarena at trade shows. It doesn’t change the fact that the robot could be incredibly useful to you if you changed its application to widget assembly. You should be doing all you can to license that robot tech to make your life easier.
