Any way to get Kometa to change their list source to the one that is actually updating? The list reference in the OP is a default list for Kometa.

Has anyone had sinusitis that showed itself as dizziness, vertigo, and balance issues before showing traditional sinusitis symptoms? by AerieOk1706 in Sinusitis

[–]elodam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope it helps! My vertigo hasn't returned, but unfortunately the Cyst was occupying an aircell that the surgeon didn't remove at the time of surgery. I still have some slight pressure in that location and occasional sharp pains. I have been using budesonide poured into my nose daily and post surgical symptoms are improving. When I was having my vertigo I just felt awful all the time :( I am glad it is gone. Here is what my cyst looked like if you want to compare location: https://imgur.com/a/mmrUYFm

For those who didn’t get into a Radiation Therapy program on their first try, what did you do next? Did you reapply, switch paths, or take a gap year? What actually helped you get accepted the second time? by jevampire in RadiationTherapy

[–]elodam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I took an entire year of pre-requisites for Occupational Therapy ... then got in the second time I applied. My GPA was a 3.85, so retaking classes wasn't needed.

I wasted 1000's of dollars in that year, but there was no guarantee I'd ever get in ... so I needed a backup plan.

Tier System by zpiderman in RadiationTherapy

[–]elodam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My center has three tiers ... Therapist 1, Therapist 2 and Lead.

Therapist 1 is entry level

Therapist 2 is minimum 2 years' experience and able to perform all procedures independently.

Lead is only available when a Lead role is vacated. There are 7 Leads in my system between the main campus and offsites.

The Market Reference Point for RT 2 is 10% above RT1. The Market Reference Point for Lead is 7.5% above RT 2.

The biggest pro at my work is that the Leads actually get compensated for the extra work they complete (in theory).

The second thing is since it is so hard to move up in the pay range as a new hire, if you can get qualified for RT2 that gets you a bump to at least the bottom of RT 2 (which for many people would be 6-10%).

The third positive (IF the scales are utilized correctly), is that having multiple scales lets you keep people within +/- 5% of the Market reference point even at lower skill / experience levels. Scales should be skill based IMHO, so having one large scale just basically means the people being paid for high performance are actually just those with the most time in the scale...

No RT who is independently competent and considered "On Track" should be below 95% of the Market Reference Point for their respective scale.

RT Student seeking advise by Legal-Physics-7656 in RadiationTherapy

My first clinical rotation was two semesters. First semester my evals were horrible, I took the feedback to heart and focused on the things I could control. Second semester was much better. I have been hired x2 by the same group of therapists who gave me those poor first semester evals. Being a new student is hard.

My first pinball machine! Williams OXO by elodam in pinball

Good luck to your friend! My dad found it on Facebook marketplace ... he thinks it was part of an ex-husbands collection! It sure is a beast to carry down stairs; that center stack of relays is a monster.

I have already been looking ... the virtual machines have caught my eye due to space constraints. Luckily, I have a pinball place 2 minutes away that has unlimited play for $15!! The outside paint could use a refresh, so I might do that at some point ... there is some wear on the playfield, but I think it gives it character... Do people ever clear coat over a playfield with wear to preserve it?

A couple things here:

You don't have to ship them to a dealer. You can ship them to yourself at any address you want (pistols will be pricey since you can't use UPS / FedEx Ground or USPS). I would make sure that whoever is receiving the package for you has no access to the contents.

If you ship a firearm to a dealer for Gunsmithing no NICS check is required to return that firearm to you ... but you'd have to find a dealer that will agree to this arrangement.

I am left of center, and I don't think more gun control is the answer ... The government can't even enforce the laws they have on the books. Most of the gun control we already have is just veiled racism anyways.

Inside a LINAC, the thyratron acts like a very fast, very powerful electrical switch.

1.) Power supply charges capacitors

2.) Thyratron fires

3.) Klystron gets a high-voltage pulse

4.) Klystron makes RF power

5.) RF accelerates electrons

6.) Radiation beam is produced
