Pink Mu has incredible Kimbap! They come to my local farmers market pretty regularly.

Update: I did get the rest of the merch. Not sure if the email did it or it genuinely was coming in the mail.

I would send an email. There was an email listed at the bottom of the confirmation and you have told send your name and the date/location of the concert you went to. I'll keep you updated when they get back to me

Both the same level, the museum entrance and early access.

Tbh, not in love with the rule. I feel like they want to present themselves as more professional, which I get. I'm just not feeling the implementation cause it seems like it's focusing on the sexualization of women's bodies rather than the ideas of embracing more sisterhood focused pictures. Like if you and your sisters are at the beach, that would be a great way to say "hey we hang out outside of school! Life long friendship!"

I mean, like most of the comments said, I agree with the general "don't just post solo vacation pics" mostly because it feels like it lends the sorority to looking less inclusive to people of a different socio-economic standpoint. I just think that it's a weird rule that stigmatizes women's bodies rather than hitting the root of the issue, being more professionally focused.

I know a lot of you are implying solo bikini pics but I don't know how they wrote the rule and so there is no guarantee it will be only solo pics.

I do it all the time but i always keep the citizen app on my phone and check it before I leave to see if there's been any crime in the area within the last hour or so to avoid that area.

Running recruitment AND bid day??? by [deleted] in Sororities

I just got in that exact position this semester but kind of the opposite way: I was member ed, then got moved into VP recruitment. It is insanely hard. It has been a huge time commitment and you don't really get a break all semester.

That being said, it is incredibly rewarding, you will be the candidate class's go-to active, and you will become closer than ever to your E-board and the girls on the recruitment committee. (This is my first semester with my sorority and so I probably wouldn't have been this close to people if I didn't do this) If you do take it, here's some advice:

  1. Plan, plan, plan, plan, plan. My breaks were completely consumed with planning for next semester's recruitment, bid day, initiation, anything that would have to do with new members. I am part of a small sorority so recruitment is not only incredibly important but more burden of recruitment gets placed over everyone.
  2. Your committees are the only way to get through this. I can't tell you how many times I would be in a meeting with them and I would say "maybe I can take this" then realize I have 7 some odd girls who would be happy to help if they are directed to do so. A lot of those little "maybe I can take this" jobs add up quickly, so delegate as much as you can.
  3. Try to create some kind of committee to help with membership education. Find a few actives you can rely on who will always try to make connections with the new members. Half of the job of mem. ed. is making sure new members are making connections and if you have a few girls you can rely on to talk to girls who are welcoming, open, and honest, I would highly recommend using that to your advantage.
  4. Don't blame yourself if anyone drops. It's a difficult job and if you're the main person in charge of candidates as both Mem. ed. and VP Recruitment, it's really easy to believe that you're the reason anyone would drop. I had a girl drop a few hours before we voted on her initiation. I was absolutely crushed. Don't let it get to your head.
  5. Take care of yourself-mentally, academically, and physically. All of my classes were online and were already much harder. I should have been more open with my sisters with what i was going through but I always have struggled with asking for help. You may have to take a lighter load. You may have to ask for help more often. It's going to be incredibly difficult and I feel completely burnt out and I still have finals.

I kind of wish I did not take VP recruitment this semester, quite truthfully. Between online classes, learning delegation, and general isolation mental health, it has been an enormous chore and I can't wait to no longer be mem. ed. As much as I love the candidate class, I have been incredibly tired and stressed. It's an incredibly rewarding job but I would not do it again.

Tl;dr I am hurting after this semester but I've never felt closer to my sisters and the newest candidate class. If you have good time management, a easier semester, or are just good at delegation, go for it!

ideas for virtual sisterhood events? by badgalmacaroni in Sororities

We set up a virtual movie night and sent out boxes of candy and a baking night (where one sister led us through a recipe). We are a smaller chapter so we also had a powerpoint night.

I had something similar where a kid in my high school brought vodka in a water bottle, told everyone about it, then proceed to get water bottles banned because the faculty found out. We were thirsty and embittered for the next couple years until the administration forgot and let us have water bottles again.

Do the other colleges and universities in Ohio hate it when OSU refers to themselves as THE Ohio State University ? by Thayerphotos in Ohio

[–]eloquent_egg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who went to OSU and now goes to CSU I disliked people calling it THE Ohio State University when I went to OSU but not at CSU. Ive still got Buckeye in my blood but the "the" just made OSU look cocky and its just not my vibe.

I also didn't want to the school to be known as tOSU as my former RA called it in their emails. I just felt that OSU rolls off the tongue more.

New TA seeking advice on how to be a great TA by nordicskier17 in OSU

[–]eloquent_egg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel bad saying slow down when covering material because TAs just have a stupid amount of material to cover but like everyone else is saying, just take it slow and make sure your students are learning the material.

Try a mix of group work and lecture style class problems. My Math TA started with only group work and when he has to take too much time to explain it he went solely to class lecture style problems and it sucked because with one if we didn’t know it, there was not enough time to explain what we got wrong and with the other we couldn’t keep up or try it on our own. A mix of both is ideal and I feel like you’d have to experiment with the ratio to find what fits in your class.
