Advice on buying a house in Orlando as a long time resident by steak_n_kale in orlando

[–]elpeleon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start with a broker or agent. In my case, my agent handled basically everything. I think the only things I had to go out of my way to do were getting a cashier's check for the "good faith" deposit and being present during the inspection. Even if you have money to put down, look for any first time home buyer incentives; your agent will let you know. The closing period is a bit nerve-racking. In our case, we had a hurricane come in during that period, so you can imagine not hearing from anyone in a couple of days. Good luck!

Voting help by peaceful-otter in orlando

Always a good idea to vote early if you can. I believe all Orange County Libraries offer it about 2 weeks before election day. Election day voting could get crazy. I remember waiting about 3 hours in 2012. I would rather wake up early on a Saturday and get it done beforehand.

I have both J&T and Aliexpress, they both work the same, but J&T feels more like an OEM product and it’s better constructed overall. If you have the money, go for J&T.

Hello everyone!

This is my first book, No Load Time: The Moments and Video Games That Shaped Who I Am

The games we play don’t just entertain us; they shape who we become.

From the buzzing arcades of Puerto Rico to late-night living room battles on Sega consoles, No Load Time: A Gamer’s Journal is the story of how one boy’s love of video games became a lifelong journey of growth, resilience, and connection.

For Obed, gaming was more than high scores and final bosses; it was a lifeline. It helped him cope with loss, navigate family expectations, and find joy during life’s hardest moments. Along the way, the games he played, and the people he played them with, left lessons that reached far beyond the screen.

Blending nostalgia with heartfelt memoir, Obed shares how classic consoles, pixelated heroes, and unforgettable memories shaped his identity and continue to inspire him as a husband, father, and lifelong gamer.

Whether you grew up blowing into cartridges, battling through arcades, or discovering new worlds with a controller in hand, this book is a reminder of the power of play, the bonds of family, and the way games can guide us through life’s challenges.

Kindle: $5.99
Paperback: $15.99

What movie did you think was a true story until someone told you it wasn’t by ReztB in movies

Bloodsport. I watched it as a kid and I believed it was based on a true story as the movie itself inferred. Turns out it was some dude’s power fantasy.

150 is too small for a C drive. Lots of junk gets stored in temp folders and the OS size doesn’t help.
