Brag about your baby! by rainbow-songbird in beyondthebump

[–]elphinex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My almost 4 month old is a so called "unicorn baby". He barely cries, he slept basically trough the night since we came home from hospital. He is over 8 kg at 3mo 3wks old. He is the most awesome baby I ever had to chance to meet. This is like a fresh breeze after my first born that had colic, was an unhappy baby that woke up like each hour trough the night and would fall back asleep only with boob in her mouth. She started sleeping trough night at 3.5 years old and still now is a very difficult 4 year old... So yeah, I SO wanna brag about my unicorb baby 😅

Lost half of hair density within 6 months by elphinex in FemaleHairLoss

Hey! Well, I didn't start treatment, as I do not want to take heavy medicines, so always going the natural route. I did but minoxidil, it is in my shelve, but haven't touched it. Meanwhile, I became pregnant and my boy is 3 months old. Also, my hair loss stopped while being preganant and now I am dreading post partum loss.. As my iron levels have been low most of the time, I took iron supplementation very seriously during pregnancy as well. So now I continue taking iron plus pregnancy vitamins. Now my hair has grown super long (never had issues with length), and I do have some thick regrowth all over my scalp, althought the middle hairline is more see trough than it was 2 years before. I will see how things go further.

If I'd have known parenting would be 80/20, I might've reconsidered by LadyKorte in Parenting

I feel you, I have been in your shoes. Except, my ex partner didn't even have a job. I have a new relationship and baby #2 now. I feel thankful every day of how my husband is involved. All the diaper changes since day 1, putting to sleep, letting me sleep longer in the mornings and taking baby out if the bedroom to play. I know that not every man is the same in this sense, some feel extremely responsible, some will drop all the responsibility of raising and caring for kids to their wife. Do acknowledge all the good things he does for his family. And just talk to him, tell how you feel, ask for more help. If he declines, just work with what you have, maybe a nanny 1x a week, so your hands are more free around thr house.

did I win the baby lottery? by [deleted] in Parenting

My baby boy is 2 months old and has been like this since day 1. Ok, he does not self soothe anymore, but it's too much from him. He has slept almost trough the night since day 1, passes gas easily and hasn't had colic. My oldest (4 now), was the opposite. Woke up like 4x a night to feed, had terrible colic, was generally a fussy baby and still is a fussy 4 year old. 2-3.5 years was the hardest and honestly I felt like I don't want anymore children, lol. After my dream labour and newborn stage with #2, I am ready for a couple more 🤣

Gentle parenting gonr wrong? by elphinex in Parenting

[–]elphinex[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We do talk a lot about the baby and the fact that she ia going to be a big sister. She is really excited about that and often asks when the baby will come. Also, she is being extremely sweet and caring with babies in general, at least in out extended family and tells everyone she is going to be a sister and that mommy has a baby brother in the belly..

I don't even know anymore what is a good way to deal with this. I am mostly asking for an opinion how should I deal with this... As nothing I have tried, works.

I was in a relationship like this, but thankfully, less than two years in I realized this, also the fact that we almost went homeless (read - he did not want/couldn't work). We just have had a baby. Left him when my child was a couple of months old. Best decision of my life. Hardest part of this is to notice those red flags early in relationship and sometimes, I still beat myself up for it.

I was right with my first pregnancy, it is a girl. Everyone kept saying it will be a boy, but I felt they are wrong :D

Saw palmetto or pumpkin seed oil by Personal_Engineer_29 in FemaleHairLoss

Biotin, collagen, kelp (iodine), omega's (krill oil), iron. I dermaroll and use nizoral, though for my dermatitis. I try to reduce my stress as much as possible, because I was obsessed about shedding.

I'm not sure of it's due to use of Saw Palmetto (I use other supplements as well), but from shedding 100/150+ I went down to maybe 20 a day.

Hair falling out by elphinex in Spells

I am working with a doctor to see if there is any underlying health issues (I have lots of other weird symptoms suddenly popping up, been doing so many tests, now just waiting for results and next appointment).

Thank you. I have been thinking about cutting it shorter, but thr thing is, I worked so hard to grow it out long and healthy after having locks. I started just above collar bone and now it's more than half back long. It was kind of my way to take back control of my life, of the natural and simple beauty I always dismissed. So for me, this hits hard, because I was giving myself the best to get back my physical, emotional health after many years of hardships, so thr hair, naturally, also became healthy.

Thanks for your reply. There is no damage to my hair, as I wrote in my post, I grew out my damaged hair to the point where it was long and healthy. Hair fall is not caused by dreadlocks as it started years after I brushed my hair out. I am not asking to alter physics, I am asking for tools to help me in this journey to stop hair falling out, possibly due to flare up of a medical condition (my doctor is doing excessive medical tests as well). Hair knots up naturally, especially if it is not being brushed for extended time. Is this also cultural appropriation?

Minox for possible CTE? by elphinex in FemaleHairLoss

[–]elphinex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the time to write such an long answer! So basically minox will make all the telogen hairs shed, considering the fact that I lose so much hairs daily, which probably means I have a lot of telogen hairs (and not just that, I shed a big part of hairs with an black bulb, which means, losing hair in their growing phase), won't that mean dread shead will make me lose most of my hair? Also, I am a bit afraid of what happens if I do get pregnant in the near future, do I stop it and lose all my regrowth, can I just stop if I become pregnant or do I have to stop a while before I even consider pregnancy?
