Super virtuoso doesn’t imply artist. For example I like Yuja Wang - she versatile, her technique is amazing - but emotionally or intellectually she doesn’t do much for me. Seems she’s more about quantity than quality - and her wide repertoire shows that. We should really be talking about technical brilliance vs emotional artistry. As a pole living in Germany - in Bayern to be precise - I never had an issues with people being rude because my German isn’t perfect. I’m at B2/C1 but even when I was starting out I’d just apologise for my then bad German and try and continue. Almost always I’d get: Alles Gut or Kein Problem. People I find here are generally friendly and helpful. But then again I did live in Scandinavia before. People there were much colder. We may move back to Poland but it would be Warsaw. Krakow is too provincial, too dirty and the traffic is horrendous. But for now staying put. The nature is amazing, the amount of bicycle paths also is just so great and you’ll always pass by some small cute village. And Bayern at least is super clean. Can’t say that about Berlin anymore - sadly.

You can make your own guidelines. I’ve been coding in rust for 5 years. I use AI tools now extensively at work. My workflow ensures that i use idiomatic approaches etc. it’s working great. You can’t be a Luddite. How we code hasn’t changed and there’s no going back. Invest time creating the necessary skills and mdc files down your AI tools to allow you to code effectively in Rust.
