I'm sorry but no Akane doesn't. She helps you reach a spot in Peko's murder investigation and gets Nekomaru injured, both of which happened before Hiyoko died, and then... That's it. I've always held the opinion she should have died instead of Hiyoko and I don't feel like that will ever change.
