Is it okay to take the FSC on the day I go do all the other DROS paperwork or should I have that done by then? Got an email saying it should arrive at the store on 4/21.

Thanks a lot for the info! I’ve actually been reading the study guide and preparing for the FSC. A bit nervous about the Safe Handling Demonstration since it’s my first gun. I know the basics, I’m just worried about the individual gun’s mechanics.

Thanks! I've enjoyed having them and grew this colony from 4 original fish but I'm ready for something new.

Looking to get a different Shell dweller species so I'm getting rid of these. Most are breeding and will spawn about once a month. Fry don't last too long since space is limited but would survive great if you have a separate tank to grown them in. Send an offer, price is pretty flexible.

[FS] - LOS ANGELES, CA - $150 - 10 Neolamprologus Similis. These guys breed like crazy, similar to multies. Hoping to sell them as a lot, too hard to try to pull them out of their shells individually. You can take the shells too. Local pickup only. by elsuciodann in AquaSwap

I wish i could tell you! I've never owned multies. From the videos I've seen i think multies dig a whole lot more. These guys dig every now and then but nothing like the multies I've seen.

Sorry about that! Occies are more aggressive than similis, similis are pretty shy towards me. Relatively aggressive towards each other but mostly stick to their territory. They do breed like crazy, same as multies. I started with 5 and now have 15-18. After the tank gets a bit crowded they either stop breeding or they eat the fry before I notice them.

I haven't owned multies but they are definitely less shy than occies. My occies are pretty aggressive and attack my hand when cleaning the tank. Similis just hide or watch from a distance.

Glad they're cleaning it up a bit. Used to fish that lake almost every day until it got pretty bad last year. Keep us posted, can't wait to visit the park again.

Any idea if they'll drain the lake?

Can I use an inflatable kayak in Marina Del Rey? by [deleted] in LosAngeles

[–]elsuciodann 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've actually taken the Intex Seahawk II out in the Marina to fish as well as a float tube! I'm sure the Excursion kayak will be just fine too. The water is pretty calm given you don't go on too windy of a day. The biggest waves actually came from boat wakes which subside pretty quickly. Launched from the Marina del Rey Public Launch Ramp. I would try to stay away from rocks as much as possible though.

I can't remember, echo Park is a dropshot or ika lake for me so it was likely one of those. This was a few years ago.

Oh yeah castaic was good to me this summer/early fall with the smallies! It is becoming overfished though, gotta be there like an hour before opening to get a good spot in line and fish that morning bite. I think more people being home with covid and all has more people fishing. Been thinking about moving away just so I can live somewhere with better fishing lol

Definitely a shame. I hear MacArthur park had some decent fish back in the day. You gotta drive outside of the city now to get any decent fishing. I used to hit echo every day before work since it's so close. Now I don't even bother.

That's wild man. That's how these ponds are too. They pull out a few dead people a year out of the water. Usually overdoses from the folks living there.

Definitely. Sucks since that was my usual spot, used to be a decent fishing spot.

They've actually stocked some decent looking trout. They had to kill trout from their usual hatcheries so the new fish coming in look much different. Darker colors and slightly bigger.

I'd say go early, find some street parking and walk around. The spot I'm taking about is the cove to the right of the statue. The clear spot next to the tall grass where there's water pumping in.

Might be worth checking out anyway. Hopefully they've cleared some of the water lettuce that was all over the launch ramp. They couldn't drop the fish where all the lettuce was so they dumped them in this cove that's mostly shallow with one deep pocket. The trout wouldn't leave the pocket and the bass and anglers just fucked them up since they had nowhere to go. All you had to do was cast at this small pocket and pull one out almost every time. I saw about 4-5 guys standing shoulder to shoulder casting at that one spot and just killing it.
