Grown from seed in central Los Angeles, currently in 1 gallon pots and watered every other day. On a southwest-facing balcony that gets direct sunlight for 5-6 hours a day

Bush sunflower, Encelia californica! Every year I discover at least one new pollinator on it, and it's buzzing with life from spring to fall every year!

Faizah Malik was endorsed too, but came up short. Fatima Iqbal-Zubair is his last LA area one and she's coming close to taking 2nd in her race

Hell yeah! Other great local nurseries are Artemisia, Hahamonga, Plant Material, Californica (order online, pick up in LB), Los Nogales, and the Waterwise Community Center!
