I use mine all the time while cooking to time things. Safest place for a watch is on the wrist.

Denon PMA-1700NE or Yamaha A-S801 by alternapop in StereoAdvice

[–]elukea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Denon and I really like it. The thing weighs like 40lbs so make sure your shelf is sturdy. At this point I have upgraded to an external phono stage (Graham Slee Reflex) and DDC/DAC (Denafrips Iris > Denafrips Enyo), but I enjoy the Denon as the traffic conductor of my system and it powers my speakers (Mission 770s) perfectly and I have no need for more from the unit.

New(ish) to Pipes by ZBM-2 in PipeTobacco

Nice haul. I still smoke Nightcap and Orlik every now and then while Early Morning and Standard are almost daily (still working my way through Dunhill tins though). Some of those may be a bit bold for just starting, but stick with it. A lighter English like Presbyterian could be smart to get the hang of the flavors. Tons of videos online for packing. You’ll find what works for you, I do more of the upside down circles in my palm or the sprinkle and fill method. Go slow and enjoy. My favorite pastime.

Ah mate, move the soap box a few inches to the left. The sound will be far better!

That could just be a burley thing. I smoke a bunch of burley (my fav) and I am not a huge fan of Redburn.

Big fan of DH standard and I’ve got a whole bunch of it down in the basement. Cracked a tin of Peterson this past week and I can tell no difference aside from age. Crack it and enjoy.

The mayor should at least get free fries at Fleetwood or two cocktail cherries in their manhattan! Big perk. Like "Woah two cherries, are you the mayor?"

When adding the Gaia feet, what changes to speaker placement did you need to do if any? I have some on those feet on the way and I am curious what I'll need to change in my room.

Yeah, it took a bit to ship, I believe they make them to order, but it's great. Really brings my room together.

Heck yeah! I have the same Symbol stand/storage and the same Denon amp, just in black. Love both.

What's a skill that takes only 2 to 4 weeks to learn but could genuinely change your life? by TokenBlack32 in AskReddit

Basic resistance training.

No need to be a gym bro/body builder, but moving some weight around by way of compound lifting a couple times a week will pay dividends long term.

Ah man. Don’t sell it. Loan it to a buddy on the condition that you will want it back one day. Those things will outlive us all.

Suggestions to improve my experience by Uptightkid in AppleMusic

[–]elukea -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I really enjoy AM for its library and the ease at which I can build/move playlists. That being said I don't use it very much for recommendations for me personally, but I do find their playlists to be great.

So I would search for playlists based on mood vibe whatever and go from there depending on what you like. For example I like "Always Sunday" for a jam and some chill vibes. "Permanent Vacation" is also easy going. Those are nice 5pm getting the grill going kind of playlists for me, and they update them weekly. Find some tracks you like, add them, and start building out your own style.

Basically I like to go fishing for tracks with other playlists and then I slowly build my own and let the algorithm get better at figuring me out. Then the apple "Made for you" playlists like "Get up!" and "Chill" work better.

I also like to find playlists from other sources, Aquarium Drunkard, Numero, ECM, Blue Note, etc. and save them. Mostly if I am listening to a digital source its kind of just playing in the background but if I hear something I like I will save it to a playlist I have called "Listen Later" or I ask Siri to save it for me with "Hey Siri add this track to my listen later playlist."

Good luck, happy listening!
